Title: FW: Perfumed Ponce
Post by: BambooToTheFuture on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, 22:25:44
Don't really like starting new threads when the TEF has a bounty of well established and ridiculous threads already. Unfortunately, this classic from the "Ralphy Forum" no longer accepts new replies...

...Interesting all the same. With this particular TRF thread in mind, my fragrance of choice is usually Acqua di Gio by Armani. Someone bought me "Code" by the same lot and it had a very similar fragrance, maybe a little sweeter. Always prefer the AdG for me personally.

What is your usual fragrance of choice?

I’m a bit of fragrance lover. Used to have 23 bottles. I’m down below double figures now and don’t buy so often.

I’m not sure I could pick a favourite, mainly because I’d look a twat, but I do love a winter fragrance.

Eau Savage.  A citric combo of lemon and bergamot.

You saying you prefer more "woody and berry" notes Mr. Scot? I was expecting you to say Cillit Bang (funny enough, it's called "Easy-off Bam" *chuckles* elsewhere) ;)

I've always liked a lighter note, subtle citruses and melons. But them I'm lucky as most stuff tends to last on my skin for longer.

The pits have become proper smelly in this lockdown.
Not a problem when attending a Teams meeting or on the blower.
No need for any grooming at the moment.

The question is - why do you feel the need to wear perfume. On the pull? You naturally stink otherwise? Fallen for advertising? Bit of a girl?

I’m more a “gourmand fragrance” kind of guy. And I’m an outright snob truth be told.

I lean towards scents that contain spices, chocolate, vanilla, coffee, tobacco, rum, caramel, honey... although won’t wear those in the summer. Then it’s more the citrus and aquatic end.

I wear fragrance every single day. Feel naked without it.

And in answer to Audrey, I like the smell and I’m a bit of a girl. Compliments are nice as well.

This, I genuinely can’t remember the last time I used any form of deoderant, due to not seeing anyone apart from my wife (who’s stuck with me regardless)

I do my pits every day although any more than that and Mrs Audrey would be locking her wardrobe in case I went full on Grayson Perry!

Same, don't want to be rubbing that crap onto my skin and absorb it.

I buy Lavera deodorants because they have less crud in them.

I only use it if i'm going out somewhere really, i have 2 favourites, i am currently using Prada Intense, it was a present as i would never spend that sort of money on a bottle of cologne, it smells nice and it really lasts as well.
My other favourite that i like to use is Viktor & Rolf Spice Bomb, that smells good and seems to last as well.

If I want a cologne for work i tend to go for the cheap smell a likes from the Beauty Outlet at the Outlet.

Remember years ago my dear old mum when she was alive had a draw with things she kept for ages for pressies. One year I received this after shave from the draw called 'Cougar' it was a mixture of water and paint stripper I think, anyway did not have the desired effect with the ladies but did not put Mrs FAT off!

Get her some of this, by way of an apology.

I think while she seems to be willing to tolerate my stank, this might tip her over the edge

Nahh, I just like the smell of decent fragrances. Similar to the smell of different flowers or plants...for me it's a feel good thing. Maybe it helps release dopamine?

Whilst Barry suggests, it's nice to hear people say "oh that smells nice" or similar, but in no way do I wear for the benefit of others, it's purely for me. I don't actively go "on the pull" but that's rather limited at present any way :)

As for advertising, I'll be one of the last to fall for a purchase via advertising (I am heavily critical of a lot of advertising (see: SkyVegas Man) campaigns), unless it happens to be really good but even then it has to be something that really catches the eye in order for me to purchase directly from an advert in any medium.
