Title: Windows 10
Post by: 4D on Saturday, January 16, 2021, 19:37:57
Are you able to legitimately download a free version of Windows 10 if your computer is still Windows 7, or do I need to throw my laptop in the bin?

No, don't do that, if you go on Ebay you can buy a Windows 10 licence upgrade from Windows 7 for about £3.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Windows10-Pro-Key-Activation-Professional-License-32-64-Bit-Genuine-Key-/293958524574?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292

I have bought a few and used them on the Kids laptops,  buy  Windows 10 Pro licence as that is the better version.

Cheers

Someone told me that if you ran the upgrade the keys would still activate even though the free upgrade ended years ago. Don't know if that's true.

I upgraded a Windows 7 machine to Windows 10 a couple of months back just by running the upgrade - automatic activation didn't work, I had to phone them - took about 10 mins
