There was some suggestion he was posting but under a different name. Would be nice to have him back, he could be a stubborn old sod at times, but he certainly contributed to the forum

Somebody called Reg who fits the exact description I have of him in my mind's eye drinks in the Steam Railway, or at least used to. I'll keep a beady eye out once the pubs reopen, let him know he's missed

Reg isn't his real name. Tails knows his son - could maybe check up on him that way.

Yes, he mentioned that he'd had little to post about due to lockdown and took a bit of a break I think.

It may often be discordant but Reg does possess a very distinctive tone and that still enriches our forum, imo.

He also possesses an encyclopaedic knowledge of all matters STFC, even if his specialist subject appears to be false dawns, losing runs, liquidations and relegation seasons. This knowledge has never quite been made obsolescent by Google or specialist websites because his stats are often complemented with the spice of real-life detail.

Enough of the hagiography.  Hope you're well and come back soon, you miserable old bugger.

I am 99% certain I met him at the Swindon Town FC Turkey Breast quiz in 2006, I was in the L&P team with Alan Hayward, Gazza and JFW as well as several other L&P forum and TEF members.

Was that the opening day of the season away game under Sturrock. 1-1, Christian Roberts with a penalty.

If it was, I remember getting into the ground and a slightly intoxicated Whits with a beer signing ‘under my pint of Stella, Ella, Ella, eh, eh, eh.
