I'm coming at this from a position of ignorance so feel free to enlighten me either way, I've not really heard the arguments from either side, but my instinct would be that it's perfectly reasonable to suggest that it may not be fair for transgender women to compete in women's sport. It does not seem hateful to me to suggest that it may not be safe or fair on biological women to be up against opponents who were biologically born male, even if they are now fully transitioned. Are there good arguments to be made against that assumption? I have long been shown up by women on the squash court and in the pool. Myself apart, sport should be limited to "under 11s" where I am an invincible colossus. |
