So i have to subscribe to their channel, i can't just buy the game? 9.99 and cancel it then i guess. Doubt very much of that goes to either club which is a shame.

I’ll scour my iptv channels.

Have we got 2 games scheduled for Saturday?

I have premier sports for Serie A football. They usually have free trials or first three months for £3.  A pain to cancel as you need to call them

As far as I can make out, we have Bristol Rovers tomorrow, Coventry home on Saturday, Man Utd U23s and a non league North West based side next week.

They've bought the rights. The club will make more than if a couple of hundred saddos like me paid £5 to stream.

"Richie Wellen's men will face the Championship side in SN1 for their third pre-season fixture following matches against Nuneaton Borough and Bristol Rovers U23's."

Richie Wellen?  Does anyone at the club know how to use an apostrophe?

I expect they do know.

But as somebody who spends a lot of time writing and editing, I know it's a very easy mistake to miss. I personally would not give them much grief over that one.

I'd have been more annoyed with them had they put "Ritchie" as it is sn obvious error on the keyboard, in terms of hand/digit movement. An intentional error if you must, even at fast typing speeds using "Ritchie" cannot be excused. Whereas a misplaced apostrophe could purely be a matter of being too quick on the wpm. I would'nt let it trouble you too much.

I agree, I would willingly fork out £5 for iFollow for the game, as I would all the friendlies, its a way for the club to make money for very little outlay. Opportunity missed I feel.

I think you may disagreeing with me, rather than agreeing.

For this to be available on iFollow or another streaming solution where the club get the lion's share of the cash, they'd have to cover the production costs between the two teams, with little to no guarantee of revenue.

Instead, a broadcaster comes along and pays a rights fee to broadcast, meaning it's risk free cash.

Got to think, though, that the broadcaster would have a better pick of friendlies to show than Swindon v Coventry.

Ah I missread, yeah if they are offering the club a decent amount of money then yes it makes sense, I read that the deal was brokered by Coventry as part of their sponsorship deal though and didn't see if we actually got much out of the deal.

Even if we get £5k it will help I guess.

Coventry fans are suggesting that they will be sponsors next season for them.

Its not on the listings, currently they've got and Aritz Arduriz special on PS1 and Swedish Speedway on PS2. Guess it might be red button or something.

I'm on board as long as it's called the 'Community Plate'.

This shield relates to the L1/L2 champions.

I'll be pitching The Community Plate to Premier Sports.

You're welcome lovers of pointless pre-season silverware.

Coventry have Landrover, we have Mini, can't we replace the Shield or Plate with Hub Caps?

What time is this Rovers game supposed to be taking place? Is it an actual game or just a convoluted training exercise

This would get my vote.   :)   Besides, a “plate” competition is usually for teams who get knocked out of tournaments in the first round. Hardly the stuff of Champions.

For that real modern football effect should it not be a 'league' with group stages leading to knock out sections?

Lets see if Rovers play a good mix of first team and U23s like us too. They haven't announced their team yet.
