Title: Where’s Lee Power?
Post by: The Grim Reaper on Sunday, June 14, 2020, 10:14:39
Not heard from him since his stint on TalkSport a while back. Nothing about his ongoing court cases on how they may or may not affect the club but even more bizarrely no acknowledgement of the fact we’ve been promoted as champions. Even by his own quiet standards this is odd. Anyone seen or heard of him since? I see he’s also just disappeared from Waterford FC.

Power had been silent for a long while before his interview on TalkSport stuff then 24 hours later and the court stuff emerges.

I'll be surprised if we hear much from him again.

Probably enjoying his summer break in the Swiss Alps but as long as he's in contact with Wellens & Jewell and sorting the squad out for next season I don't care

Not sure there is much planning to do at the moment.  In any event, I am not particularly interested in his whereabouts.  What is there to say at the moment other than 'got a bit of legal bovver but my brief says I can't say much about that and there ain't much football goin on'?

The club have a few things to decide on, season tickets and the like.

I guess Steve Anderson should be on that in consultation with Power.

Was excepting some sort of 'champions' acknowledgement though

This.

2020/21 but I get your point regarding "this"

I thought that the brief article on the club website was sufficient.

He's probably living it up in some tax free haven,  with the pre paid season ticket money !!.

Well, gwapple my gwapenuts! The gwass on the CG pitch must be at least 6 feet (not 2 metres please) by now. When the gwoundsperson is back work maybe they could use the "Next match versus" sign to display "League 2 Champs" or similar. Just something extra so the townspeople that know that the lights are on at the club, & that there should be something to celebwate.

Agreed Reg, given Costanza's relatively close (and excellent) relationship with the players (loving your work mate)..that definitely strikes a chord. Any more morsels you can throw us mate?

I've heard he's trying to buy Bradford City and sell Swindon. Could be bollocks but time will tell.

Then they can kiss goodbye to their £150 Season Tickets!

I wasn't aware they were looking for a change of ownership plus you would think Bradford would be worth much more than Swindon

I don’t think so. Don’t own their ground, have no discernible assets, no players worth much. Their 15,000 attendance doesn’t bring in any more m9ney than our 8000 odd.

Presumably the funding will be provided by third parties

It was enough to bring him to Swindon under similar circumstances!

Although saying that I personally can't see it, and with the court case now would he pass another "fit and proper" assessment by the EFL?

I agree and nothing on their forum and as we know from the Doyle saga they do like to moan if they're not happy!

It will be like when they recalled Doyle, they will be on here gloating how great Power is!

It would be nice of the club to release a statement like most other clubs about ST's from last season and giving fans options on what they wanted to do, granted a majority will more than likely be happy for the club to keep the money, and that should be recognised by the club that fans are willing to do that, but I'm sure there are a few out there that may like the money back as they may be struggling financially at the moment, so a few quid in their pocket might make a difference to them.

Even Scunthorpe came out with a statement telling everyone they was not refunding anything they was keep it.

Although with all club staff on furlough there is nobody managing the good ship stfc.

Ben the media guy isn't on furlough looking at the amount of content being produced!

I think you might need to read the T&C's on the purchase of season tickets - it states something along the lines of, no refunds will be issued once the ST has been activated and been used for at least one game..  I thought it was pretty much common knowledge that there were going to be no refunds issued on ST's although they did say they might look at doing something for ST holders with regards to an Ifollow account (if the games were to continue) and potentially vouchers for the club shop for next season as a gesture of goodwill...

I wouldn't hold your breath though

I've got a couple of tickets outstanding, the club can keep the money. I'd only demand it back from Milton Keynes.

Tbh, if Power can’t be arsed to say thanks to Wellens and the players for attaining promotion, I doubt he’s going to bother about STs.

even then it may be stfc holding the cash.

I saw some clubs asking fans if they could keep the away ticket money as they hadn't sent it to the away club.

This is the response i got when i asked about away ticket refunds a couple of weeks back

Quote
Thanks for your email. We have all been furloughed but once we are back in all supporters will be entitled to refunds but given the financial situation it may be more suitable during a period of no income to the club for fans to have credit for home or away games coming up next season as and when fans are allowed so please keep on social media of re opening dates.

All the information will be provided on all the options available to supporters including how to claim refunds in full if they so wish.

And thanks for those comments much appreciated and looking forward to next season and hopefully welcome you all back sooner rather than later to a full County Ground.
