Title: Short Film Development: Public Perceptions of Depression & Anxiety
Post by: BambooToTheFuture on Saturday, February 29, 2020, 21:33:28
Evening all,

As some of you may know (or not), I'm currently in the development stage of writing a short film, concerning misconceptions surrounding depression and anxiety. As part of my ongoing research, I was wondering if any of you would take part in the survey I've put together below. It'll take no more than five minutes and I'd be really grateful of your participation.

https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/CPRW92H

Considering the sensitive nature of the survey, this will be a completely anonymous survey and will not be sharing your data individually.

Many thanks,

Bamboo :)

Great response rate in under 24hrs. Thanks to any who have participated so far, it's much appreciated.

I'd like to get as many as possible to take part so feel free to share the link across your socials. Remember, it's completely anonymous so anyone participating has the piece of mind they will remain so.

Thanks,

Bamboo :)

Less talk about my massive thingy! Yes it is related to the French dude, Mersene I think? Anyway. It's the biggest perfect number (known).

Thanks Brigg. There's some way to go.

While mental health is having a raised profile, I don't think there's been a short/promo that has really captured the true feelings and sensory overload that can be associated. Maybe in an odd scene but not in a way that I'm trying to achieve (I hope).

I'm hoping to get some ambient recording down in the next few weeks (sometime late March/Early) as I begin to piece things together.

If you could capture the flight part of the "fight or flight" feelings that would do wonders to show people what anxiety feels like.

Contrast it with the 'fight' feeling too. I've always had the queasy, sweaty, gut wrenching, panicked flight feeling whenever confronted by situations that others might not think worthy of such a reaction. So am familiar with this, but not sure what the other feels like.

Thanks all three above.  Will consider all feedback here and elsewhere. Predominantly will be focussing on rebuffing misconceptions as a starting point.
