I reckon there are probably buds out there that have much better battery life but they work for my commute and gym sessions and are comfortable and the sound is good.

They didn't. Headphones go over your head (they have that band over the top of your head). Earbuds go in your ears

Dunno, I've always called them earphones if they go in, rather than over, your ear. Although the industry term appears to be earbuds for the ones that go in your ear.

Fair enough. I think I generally refer them as headphones but that's probably wrong or just habit.

I got some for £40 in HMV at Bluewater...took my 18 year old missy Flash as a guide.

The playback life is key to the price.

Im not a hifi buff and they suit me. Wouldnt pay more than that.

I would call them swabs. I know they are not, but that's how I remember them as a kid.

Oh, and my mum used to lick them before cleaning my ears!

I have a pair of Apple Airpods, for the first 6 months they were incredible but since then they have had problem after problem.
1st the microphone stopped working, which is a pain as I use them for calls at work.
2nd the wireless case stopped working
3rd the microphone went again!

Unfortunately Apple have been a pain in sorting these things, despite being under warranty.

Possibly as I had the 1st gen ones these were teething problems, but I certainly see them as a waste of money at the moment.

Don't get me wrong. Im a massive apple fan i am just not paying £200+ for something that makes me look like Ben Stiller in There's Something about Mary.

I personally think those apple pods look ridiculous but each to their own!

To be fair they all look ridiculous, but I've really got back into listening to music and im fed up on constantly having to untangle my generic wired ones.

Serious question, how do you not lose them, I use the wired ones and they often fall out?

I'll be interested in this too which is why i didn't want to spend hundreds.

I'll mainly be using them at work to drown out the chit chat and i don't exercise (even though i should) so its not a massive concern.

Always dubious going for a "non brand" product, but im really happy with these. Only had then a few hours but fit is good, and sound quality is great, great bass. Touch commands were tricky to get used to but i think i've just about got them now.
Interested how the battery life compares to whats advertised. Will find that out today.

Having seen the kids with their Apple ones, I was thinking of getting myself some.

I currently walk everyday for 1-2 hours and use an old ipod Nano (Onto a 4th gen one as the 3rd gen died a while back) and some wired earphones/buds/whatever.

Can you listen to the radio through them?

How do you avoid ear wax on & in your equipment?

Why do people shout when on the phone now instead of talking quietly into a microphone. I don't want to know that you need to manage the customer's expectations about the service delivery issue.

I blame The Apprentice/TV. They always talk loudly on speaker phone for TV purposes.

Now idiots walk around with phone at 90 degrees to gob prattling on in the same manner.

You can listen to whatever you want on them.

The ones i've got are waterproof so can easy wash them after use.

I only use mine for music, i don't really tend to talk on my phone very much at all.

for those interested (John) i picked up a second pair from Lidl this weekend. Skullcandy brand £29.99 (rrp 49.99). These don't have anywhere near a good battery life but are slightly more conformable that the non-branded Amazon ones.
Happy with both, but will probably use the Skullcandy ones at work and day to day and keep the non-branded for when i travel and need the battery life and power bank.
