I'm in the market for a new telly,  got a 42" 750 telly. My eyes are getting worse so I'm looking for a decent 50" 4k smart telly that's not taking the piss in price. Any suggestions?

Set a budget then compare TVs in that price range. Panasonic, Sony, Samsung, lg, all good. Hysense good too for a lesser known brand(alot of tv for the money due to that) My current TVs are Samsung's and I'm very pleased with them.
How a TV handles motion, avoiding blur is the biggest factor in buying for me.

I got a 55’ 4k samsung for £599 reduced from £999. Well pleased with it.

I've got a Hisense. It's 3 or so years old and has served me alright. The only frustration is the built in guide & apps are a bit slow, but I use a separate freeview box anyway.

I've seen a samsung 50" 4k hd job for £499.

Mines an LG 50". Lasted me seven years so far and survived two kids growing up and bashing it around etc. For that reason I recommend LG as a brand but not sure on prices.

I've got a 42" LG at the moment, it's been good but the 4k will be much sharper.

We have a 65" LG 4k smart TV thats nearly 2 years old now, cost me £599.

Fantastic quality and picture and decent sound too.

Would definately recommend them, our last 46" LG lasted 7 years with no issues at all but I wanted a smart TV so sold it on.

LG are pretty good when it comes to screen quality set again VfM. You'll get longevity out of one too.

TVs have become one of those posturing types of material things though. A bit like the sports car thing. "Oh we have a 40inch". "Well I bought a 56inch last month" and so on. The bigger the screen, the more compensating for something. I guess that's why I write long paragraphs  ;)

We only have a 36" I think it is. The mrs is well happy.
