Post by: Bewster on Monday, March 11, 2019, 08:59:15
Been looking at a few deals for this week and here are some of the better ones if anyone is interested :

Bet Victor - £5 on first race at odds greater than 2.00 get free £1 bet for every race after

Sky - £20 on first race – if loss then cash back

Paddy Power - £10 at odds greater than 1.5, get £30 in free bets.

Well done,  I did exactly the same thing,   £120 better off, Can't wait for tomorrow !!.    Just had an email and won a tenner on the postcode lottery,  well its not really a win, it's just this month's stake money back,   they say it comes in threes,  maybe I should have a tenner on the Town tonight !!.

1 e/w winner and 2 other places.  Plenty of losers!

Finished the day £25 up which is good for me as a small stakes bettor.

£200 profit. always brilliant when you get a winner on the first- even more so when its the skybet risk free £20. really sets the day up and you can bet bigger with profit than you would normally. 3 wins and a 16/1 3rd.

No real method just browse numerous tipsters and go with a good write up. including audrey's beware the bear which i had seen elsewhere and thought why not! usually win the first few days and it dwindles down to friday. need some luck with that first race.

not sure if we will see any racing tomorrow!

Nice easy winner,  easy money, unfortunately only odds of 5/4,  still,  short priced winner is better than a long priced loser !.

50p up yesterday. Have used all free best except Sky's first of the day, about £100 up overall

I was chatting to a Liverpool fan at work about the champions league and I said to him I thought that Liverpool would win 3-1.

So randomly I stuck a quid on it last night at 25/1. So that make me £125 up  ;D

1.30 Defi Du Seil
2.10 Not Many Left E/W
2.50 Monalee
3.30 Paisley Park

4.50 Epatante

That's it, my free £20 bet is on, one winner one loser so far, so still well in front.  Defk Du Seuiln for me in the first.
Paisley Park appears to be th bet  of the day but won't be a good price,   however if it performs as well as short priced favourites Altoir and Tiger Roll yesterday then it should be a good investment.

Any of you fancy a look, I've had a fairly decent March so far. Haven't used this for ages and decided to put my tips on. If you'd followed my 51 tips over the last 2/3 days your P/L for £10 stakes would be £391

Win %
50.98%

Won/Total
26/51

*ROI
Invested
47.73%
82.00

**P/L
39.14

P/L for £10 stakes
£391.40

Some brilliant Cheltenham Tipsters in this thread. Keep them coming. Think bookies did alright out of Bouvadair falling yesterday and also no favourites making the frame in the 4.50. My tip was Posh Trish so I'm sure the bookies did ok there. They'll do ok tomorrow too.

Lots of fun to be had tomorrow. Much of Chelt on a Friday is more about trying to bag a posh bird after the races and it seems to throw up all sorts of results. Good luck!

3/4. said it would be hard to not do the favs today and they have done the job perfect.

Good call. I decided to mainly go against the favourites and managed to pick the only one early on who didn't win.  Lost 70% of my winning from first two days.

Today will turn it back around  :)

1.30 Pic D'Orhy.  Gardens of Babylon e/w
2.10 Western Ryder e/w
2.50 Lisnagar Oscar.  Derrinross e/w
3.30 Presenting Percy.  Bellshill e/w
4.10 Road to Rome
4.50 Magic Saint.  Not another muddle e/w

Not going to make a fortune today,  can't see anything beating Sir Erec in the first,  so my £20 is on him. Maximum £20 profit !. Still £200 up on the week so can't complain.

1.30 Sir Erec
2.10 Eclair de Beaufeu E/W
2.50 Rhinestone E/W
3.30 Presenting Percy
4.10 Haymount E/W
4.40 Magic Saint
5.30 Dallas Des Pictons

I have backed all these with cold hard money today.

Title: Re: Cheltenham Festival 2019

So I have settled on for today:
1.30 - Sir Erec
14.10 - Whiskey Sour
14.50 - Birchdale
15.30 - Bellshill
16.10 - Stand up and Fight
16.50 - Magic Saint
I have changed my tactics and gone for a E/W Heinz bet today, so lets see if I can rake some cash in today, but I am up on the week including todays bets.

Title: Re: Cheltenham Festival 2019
Post by: BambooToTheFuture on Friday, March 15, 2019, 13:04:31
Going against the grain a little today. Here's my Cheltenham card, take it as you wish;

13:30 - Obvious favourite backed here in Sir Erec and should be placed. Quel Destin seems ready to spoil the party though and take this GC opener. Adjali equally looks good to ruffle feathers and claim a place.

Outsider - Adjali
Winner   - Quel Destin
Placed    - Sir Erec

14:10 - All the money will be going on Whiskey Sour no doubt but i'm predicting a bit of shock to get GC Friday rocking. Western Ryder to win closely followed by Monsieur Lecoq in what will have been a great festival for Lizzie Kelly. 5 places up for grabs and with that form in class, you'd be rude not to have an e/w on We Have A Dream at 25s.

O/S - We Have A Dream
Win - Western Ryder
Plce - Monsieur Lecoq

14:50 - Gold Cup warm up after the previous race upset. Very open field here, and Dinons can't be discounted after harshly hampered last time out. Strong favourites don't do well which makes choosing a winner difficult except Lisnagar Oscar, with continued impressing form looks to have the edge over Commander of Fleet. In any case, always avoid the favourite.

O/S - Dinons
Win - Lisnagar Oscar
Plce - Commander of Fleet

15:30 Gold Cup - Bellshill to get the better of his stablemate Kemboy and finally bag a GC for Mullins. Recently won the Irish Gold Cup too so a great indicator. Native River won't have enough to win but will go better than Mite Bite. Clan Des Obeaux has place claims too. A very open GC field.

O/S - Kemboy
Win - Bellshill
Plce - Native River

16:10 - Hazel Hill really should romp this with a fantastic performance at Warwick but Stand Up And Fight does exactly that, on all ground. Conditions may just suit SUAF to pinch it. Old head Ucello Conti should still have enough in the tank to manage this for a place. A lot of money behind Road To Rome but all those 1s trigger me and just say avoid.

O/S - Ucello Conti
Win - Stand Up And Fight
Plce - Hazel Hill

16:50 - Magic Saint should be the pick over Not Another Muddle and Whatswrongwithyou should make the frame in a five place special. Same goes for Gino Trail who could be the surprise package due to conditions. Loves Good to Soft. At 20s, I imagine that to be more like 10s at the post. Great value for pe/w bettors.

O/S - Gino Trail
Win - Magic Saint
Plce - Whatswrongwithyou

17:30 - SIX PLACES up for grabs with some bookies but a generous five on offer anyhow. Can't really see past Dallas Des Pictons in this although Pym looks very interesting for place claims at 16s. Fairly open field after DDP with Cartwright probably challenging. With six places, If You Say Run can't be ignored with talented Bryony Frost on board. Think that'll sneak a 5th/6th. 25s at current.

O/S - If You Say Run
Win - Dallas Des Pictons
Plce - Pym

For ITV7ers, other selections of note NOBEL LEADER 13:55 @ Fakenham & DASHING POET 14:20 @ Lingfield. Also makes a nice e/w double! Have fun, and bet within your means fellas :)

1.30 - Pentland Hills

2.10 - Countister (got a gut feeling about this one)

2.50 - Salsaretta

Going for an e/w patent

Nearly went for Countister, great odds especially if plumping for e/w.

Boyle Sport.
I don't tend to use them, i just signed up many moons ago to use a promo offer and got an email last week saying they will give me a free £10 bet every day for the festival.
Can't really have any complaints.

Sounds a good deal

20/1 winner! No idea what a patent is but does that mean you are guaranteed profit regardless of how the other 2 do?

3 singles, 3 doubles and 1 treble. So 7 bets in total. Only for £1 e/w = £14 staked.

Got £260 back from my free bet, too!

Nice e/w call on Pentland Hills especially as nearly unseated early on. My win tip faded at the final fence after leading. Thought it was on after Sir Erec withdrew but took 4th I think. Buggar! Well done Aud. Looks like Sir Erec will be put down. Not the best start to the day.

Countister gets the place. I warned you all about Wehaveadream, takes 2nd. Whiskey Sour takes 4th.

Aud is on for an e/w sealer with Salseretta. A nice little wedge to take to Greece with you, you barstard!

Thought he was going to win coming to the last. That would have made the next race interesting - would have £398 on it @ 20/1!

1.30 Sir Erec
2.10 Eclair de Beaufeu E/W
2.50 Rhinestone E/W
3.30 Presenting Percy
4.10 Haymount E/W
4.40 Magic Saint
5.30 Dallas Des Pictons

I have backed all these with cold hard money today.

Bloody hell. Eric put down and then Eclair de Beaufeu falls at the last! Need the luck to change here!

Still two places and a winner on a patent. Think you get a bonus on 1 winner in a Patent. Still nice return on £14. Who's your GC pick Aud. I'm still going for Belshill win, Native River e/w

My pick Belshill, looks like is another casualty :( So joy and dismay for Willie Mullins as he gets his GC winner.

Native River got the place. Tough call is Gold Cup Friday!

Edit: Invitation Only (same silks) but still a Mullins horse  :(

Finally got a winner! I knew Hazel Hill would finish well. Stand Up And Fight never really got going yet tried to push further on, ended up just outside the frame with Ucello Conti. Respected runs from both. Certainly was right to avoid Road To Rome for the win. Bookies made plenty of money so far.

Bryony Frost up next, ufffff! She reminds me of that GoT actor. Filth! With mud included  :pint:

Confirmed that Invitation Only is put down :/ This is the side of Horse Racing I dislike but it is part of racing to a degree. Questions will be asked if Sir Erec was only ran to please shareholders, despite the reports. Things didn't seem right for me when it had to be reshoed. Normal in a stable environment but SE had been unsettled.

Two more races left, let us hope all horses jump safely and all come home safe.

if id have bet like i did the first 3 days i would have lost loads today! Always so hard to get a winner or two on friday.

been a really good festival- today is the first day i'm down but its the least I have bet by far and banked loads. Pym 16/1 and La Mussee 33/1 ew in the last- for no reason at all.

See some good winners in this thread today!

Punter (most of) took a hammering in the 16:50. Only Bryony Frost on Brelan D'as only came out with any real respect in 3rd at 8s. Magic Saint was up there but faded 3 out, Whatswrongwithyou travelled well but also faded to out the frame at about 7th.  Great if you had Croco Bay at 66-70/1 but I don't think many will have had it.

Aye! Friday always a tough one. Sometimes may as well just do the "close the eyes" technique. I have Pym down as a place but certainly worth going for an outsider. Bryony Frost can get a place again on If You Say Run in the Martin Pipe @ 25/1. Great price.  The only favourite to win so far today was Hazel Hill. Have a feeling Dallas Des Pictons will be the 2nd one as favourite to win and close Chelt2019 but like you, Pym seems to be worth a roll of the dice.

Yeh Dalls Des Pictons has been well backed and talked about but at 7/2 thats too short for me in a 24 horse amateur race. With skybet paying 6 places there is more value in trying to find a place

Makes you ask the question why jumps are needed anymore. I get horse racing, but not sure obstacles are needed really after watching race 1 today.  Horrible viewing.

The biggest concern is, Sir Erec's leg break came over "just" the sticks. Wasn't even a full on hedge. For me proper jumps, obstacles, hedges etc. are technical elements reserved for calculated skill in Equestrian. Where both the horse and rider have more time to assess a jump. Equestrian is like the equivalent of a High Jumper, Pole Vaulter or Vault gymnastics. Yes there are still risks and injuries but they can be minimized.

In Horse Racing there is so much power and speed it would be like asking a Sprinter to jump over a 2m (6'7" ish) high obstacle and then get up and keep going at the previous pace. This is what makes Horse Racing so much more technical I guess but the industry hasn't really caught up. A real equivalent would be in Motor Racing (whatever the opinion of the status as a sport) where they have put in place so much safety yet (if you're a fan) it can still be exciting, and still accidents happen.

Maybe the Horse Racing industry are a little scared of making it boring but if both Darts and Snooker can have revivals then i'm certain there will always be a place for Giddies. No matter how safe they make it. The bottom line is, there aren't many sound humans that want to see a shattered horse tibia.
