Title: Photoshop
Post by: horlock07 on Thursday, February 14, 2019, 09:49:57
My missus used to be a graphic designer and was thus quite the wiz on Photoshop, in her new business she would use  it about 3-4 times a year and thus whilst it would be incredibly handy she cannot justify the £300 odd a year subscription to buy it? Do you wizz's know of anywhere you can download an old version online or access it, you used to be able to buy copies on CD but of course modern PC's don't tend to have CD drives!

If that makes sense?

Would Elements suffice? A lot cheaper.

Isn't that just photo editing software...she needs it for creating marketing graphics etc?

There's GIMP, a FOSS clone of Photoshop. Probably a bit more rustic than modern versions of PS, but a very adequate replacement if you're only using it a few times a year:

http://www.gimp.org/

(Yes it is called that, it's not some NSFW link to masks and rubber etc)

I'm guessing "out back in the dodgy shop near Wan Chai McDonalds in Hong Kong" isn't going to be much use.

I used to use that quite a bit and it did the job

But saying "bring out the GIMP" every time you launch is mandatory.
