Title: We Buy Any Car
Post by: The Artist Formerly Known as Audrey on Monday, February 4, 2019, 09:10:48
Anybody used this lot, or anyone similar?

I’m in a quandary as I’m off to Greece and can’t work out what to do about selling my car. They’ve valued it at £11,750 and I presume they’ll knock that down when they inspect it. If I accept their valuation they take the car there and then so I’ll still need a cheap runaround until I go - so that’ll be £500 at best.

If I keep my car until the last minute and use WBAC.com I’ll be forced to accept whatever they value it at and it could well be well be below what they said.

only to sell a clapped out piece of junk. they gave me more than they quoted, but we are taking about a couple of hundred quid total so not really relevant.

I used them through work. You know what to expect - they'll knock off money for dents, scratches, wheels scuffs. I sold a pretty immaculate company car and they knocked off about £500 - having said that their service was excellent and they paid up when they said they would unlike a local garage I used.

Take off between £500-£1000 what they value it at, it’s not usually any more than that.
As said above, the actual service is good and they don’t mess around with payment.

I've used them a couple  of times and they've been pretty good... The cars were dead though so not worth much. Have a google and see what you can get quoted for scrappage as you may even get more through that route.

Could be worth a look to see what you can get

Went to them a while back and whilst nice enough at first, i didn't agree with their valuation following the inspection so when i told them i wasn't accepting it, the guy got a little shirty with me.

Used them once a few years ago,  thought they were a bunch of shisters, any excuse to knock off a few quid,  did the same as Chubbs in the end and told them to shove it.
Maybe ok if you're desperate,  but don't think I'd ever be THAT desperate.

They offered me £100 for a very old car, this didn't include their fee's which greatly reduce the cash in your hand.
The car was written off withing the week so never made it too them, which was great by chance.
The other drivers insurance company paid me £600 scapage fee?

To be honest I would just whack it on Auto-Trader E bay etc for what you think its worth and leave it there until about 2 weeks before you have to get rid and then resort to WBAC if necessary.

So it's a pretty new car with very low mileage. Yep, auto trader/motors would be your friend and if you want it gone quickly with more serious buyers, wouldn't it be worth asking them about "featured motor" ad with them? Surely the cost of that to the difference lost with WBAC would be a better prospect?

Seem to be going 2nd hand for around £14k.

As others have said, if it gets squeaky bum time, then go down the route of Satan's Salesman (WBAC).

Good luck.

Tbh, I’d be pleased to get £12,000 for it. It was £18k new, minus £2k dealer contribution and £2k p/ex for my old Mondeo.

I think I’ll try Auto Trader - if successful I’ll hire a small car until we go. WBAC as a last resort. If I was on good terms with the ex I could leave it with her - but she’d torch it!
