Title: Loathed Stranger Podcast

Anyone else heard these yet?

Seems like this could be a decent podcast to be fair.

Yup, all good so far but particularly enjoyed the Matt Heywood one.

Just listened to them all. Didn't expect the Aaron Oakley one to be the highlight. Confirms how poisonous di Canio was. Paul Bodin comes out of it well. What's PB doing now? Wikipedia stops after he left as assistant manager of Port Vale.

Good listen that.
I’ve never heard Danny Invincible’s last name pronounced how Rich pronounced it before.

Yeeeeah. I went with what I guess the Italian pronunciation would be. Matt was kind for not questioning/mocking it.

It's been a lot of work but I really enjoy doing them. Hopefully I'll get better at it (move away from the cliche/generic questioning) and more ex-players will join in along the way.

Plenty of potential future guests simmering in the background (varying in careers - but as the Oakley episode proved, you don't have to play to have a story or two). I'm just as interested in the 'nearly men' as I am the 'legends'.

If anyone on here knows of any Swindon Town people of interest who would be willing to participate then please let me know.

Cheers!

I get what I'm given and I'm grateful for their participation.

On the Ferry front, I'm hopeful...

Get hold of Nick Judd if you can, used to work at the club for a few years and has a few interesting stories to tell. He is a regular on twitter, nice chap too.

Ivo Graham is on our London Reds Watsapp, I could put a message out for him? (although he is a bit busy in Edinburgh at the moment)

Are you Wild Al too?

Alas not. I have no knowledge of Swindon beyond the radius of the Train Station, Town Centre and the County Ground.

Get hold of Nick Judd if you can, used to work at the club for a few years and has a few interesting stories to tell. He is a regular on twitter, nice chap too.

Yeah, I've been in touch with Nick. I'm sure he'll be a guest in the not too distant future.

Ivo Graham is on our London Reds Watsapp, I could put a message out for him? (although he is a bit busy in Edinburgh at the moment)

That would be good, thanks. I think I've got enough to get me through August but that'll be good.

Episode 4 was recorded last night - sound isn't as good as I want it to be but that's something I've got to deal with until I can get better kit.

It's clear though... it's going to be in two parts.

Cheers folks.

Yeah, Reeves would have seen a lot.

I think people will still get lots of good stuff from ex-players who were there but perhaps only played 0-10 games.

I should definitely draw out a 'holy grail' list.

Tell you what Rich, as I said on Twitter i am fucking loving these.

It's interesting to hear certain events and things you remember from a fan perspective bring told from a player.

Case in point here, Paul Hart . Was expecting something different from 'fat boy', but he basically thought the same as us regarding the negative tactics!

Then there are the things that go on that you don't hear about at the time.

But line someone said, all the ex player ones were excellent, even players that nearly but didn't made it.

The Benjamin Wills one didn't age well, by the time I listened to it half the trialist players bring discussed were out the door :) My fault!

Cheers Batch.

I was tremendously reluctant to do a current events Town podcast for the very reason you have stated but the demand seems to be there. I’ll do a monthly update plus an emergency episode if something crazy happens.

Ex-players, staff and even fans has always been the aim. I might also do general discussion topics with a Town slant (ie transfer market, rivalries, ownership...)

Getting Ferry on has increased expectancy. Most of the guests are likely to be less popular than Simon but hopefully people will keep listening.

I will also upgrade equipment when I can justify it. Still early days.

Don’t.

After the Ferry episode went out I had a few DM’s from people suggesting who I should get.

Some of them were being... optimistic.

can't do a player every week. nothing wrong with a retrospective look on current events. transfer market wrap up on 31st, etc.

I'll try and keep going for a little while longer before I try and get money from people.

3 more players have committed which is great.

Trying to get players from further back involved but that's proving quite tough.

I liked the Matt Heywood one, he was clearly very fond of Kingy, despite not having any tactical prowess at all!!

I can't see it on i-tunes either.

I'm not really planning to top Ferry! Unless I get him back on.

Recent good news is that I think Matt Heywood is going to return at some point for an 'anecdotal' special, which will be fun.

Next two ex-players lined-up are one with over 100 Town appearances and one with less than 50 so varying pitch time (not that it's important to me).

Questions all prepped but we're just trying to arrange times to record them. Hoping to get one done for end of the week release.

They all offer their own little insight.

As much as it's unrealistic, PDC would be fucking brilliant. Although I doubt you'd get a word in edgeways! & great work so far. Only listened to the Wills & Heywood ones. Looking forward to the Ferry one next.
