Title: Programme Subscriptions
Post by: Bedford Red on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, 17:37:30
Does anyone have a programme subscription from the club, and if so do you have a person's details to contact.

I've contacted the club through the website, and by e-mail and had no response, and i can't ring in work hours.

Thanks if anyone does....

Are we still going to produce a programme now it isn't compulsory  :hmmm:

Don't recall any statement either way at the time of the vote.

They are still producing them for this season, i know someone who has taken a subscription out. I'm just finding it frustrating to do the same, you would think they would want the money....

When was this?  Speaking as someone who has a match programme for every Swindon game they have ever been to (since 1990), it would crush me a little inside if the collection had to stop.

On rare occasions, I've even had to offer over the odds to buy a programme from another supporter when they ran out.  The FA Cup game at Maine Road in the early 2000s springs to mind.

The overall decision was taken at this year's EFL AGM.  It's recorded here: https://www.efl.com/news/2018/june/efl-summer-conference-2018--agm-round-up/

The club were supposed to be producing a programme for tomorrow's game, but have decided not to now, i wonder if that is because of the different format with 2 x 60 minute halves.

I've had an e-mail from the club this morning, they are still going to produce programmes for this season.

The receptionist wouldn't give us a team sheet this afternoon. Had a massive pile of them on his desk (most probably binned an hour later) Makes me love the Club less than I already do at the moment.

Yeah, I did too Bedford. This is good news. They can’t offer any away subscription this season though as they don’t know who is and isn’t producing them. Bit shit if you ask me but I guess that’s democracy for you.

That is a pain re the away subscription, but they can't charge a price i guess and then half the clubs don't produce programmes. Just makes it harder work getting hold of them.

What a bizarre attitude by the receptionist. You're right, thing like that don't help.

Despite being an avid programme collector for many years have not bought one now for several seasons.
More of a magazine than a programme these days.   Difficult to carry, overpriced and generally no information that you can't get on a modern phone.  Team sheets at a sensible price would be my idea of the way ahead.   Would definitely never buy another Wembley programme,  they went downhill 30+ years ago when they started producing those mega size items, only programmes worse than those were the Derby newspaper type programmes in the seventies.  Think Tranmere and one or two others tried the same idea - glad that never caught on.
