They are on the list on that game as they were one of the 14 I did get!

Shouldn't Wimbledon be on the list?

I suppose AFC Wimbledon are an entirely new club, whilst possibly the BBC are correctly showing that Franchise should not form the legacy of the original Wimbledon!

No Cardiff or Swansea? & Franchise should be in there whether we like it or not!

IIRC AFC Wimbledon are now accepted by both clubs to be the legitimate successor club, part of the "peace treaty" deal they struck a few years back

Load of bollocks.... the real interest is in teams who've been in the Prem and dropped to Div 4... thrice.

See we're exclusive...  Blackpool, Bradford City, Pompey and Cov have done it once.

But they have excuse of being basket case clubs par excellence.  Blackpool, have the Oystens... Bantams, had Trafford Heginbotham and then Geffrey Richmond, Pompey a whole string of dodginess. Cov, Sisu.

I think with Diamandis, Holt and co not to mention JedCo we could put in our own case for entry into the Basket Case Cup

These are sides who've been in the Prem and fallen to Div 3.... not been in Div 3, gone up and not been back....yet.

And therefore sort of bypassed Div 3 on their way to non league.

That's fair enough but it doesn't change the fact that Franchise were the actual club that played in the PL. Sentiment shouldn't really come into it!

Franchise started off in Div 3. They've been nowhere near the Prem...

My point is they clearly replaced Wimbledon within the overall structure. I know where you're both coming from & what the general consensus is but ultimately the old Wimbledon are now Franchise in the sense that they took their place in the league.

Took their place.... but ultimately not their club.

The old Wimbledon are now AFC Wimbledon. Franchise stole their place in the league, they didn't earn the history. That stays with Wimbledon

Sentimentally, yes. Technically, not. I hate it as much as everybody else but AFC Wimbledon & Wimbledon aren't the same club.

The one bright spot in an appalling season. Their customers are quite fond of us if I remember correctly?

As for the quiz, I think I got 5. I got pissed off when it accepted Bolton but not Swindon, and I'm sure I spelt Sheffield Wednesday right considering I used predictive text. Bunch of cunts.

So from the promotion chasing teams from League One in 2014/5, Franchise went to the Championship and are now in League Two with us. Chesterfield lost to Preston at home on the night we won at Sheffield Utd and are now Non League. Shows how quickly a club can unwind from a seemingly successful position.

...and Blades are in a comfortable position in the championship and Preston could still sneak in the play offs. A certain Billy Bodin could well be a Premier League player next season. Wasn't long ago he was playing for Turkey Utd and deemed not quite developed enough for us. Torquay will be playing in the National League South next season.

Football. It's a funny old game.

The last 10 minutes or so if that Play-Off Final against Gillingham was glorious chaos.

Love stuff like this.

Fairly easy considering I reckon we’ve played 18 of the 21 teams in L1 ourselves.
Man City and Blackburn being the exceptions

List questions are always trickier than you think.... I recently had one in a quiz name the 32 players (football not cricket) with one cap for England in the 21st century.

Tom Heaton? Chris Kirkland? Trying not to cheat but I reckon there are a couple of keepers. Butland and Pickford maybe?

There's some proper shit....  of those mentioned, Davies, Kirkland, Ricketts, Jeffers, Nugent, S Johnson, Barton are all correct. Heaton and Pickford already up to 2. Lambert got quite a few and scored 3 goals.

There's also a few who could yet add

Zaha got more than 1... all others, yes.  Steven Caulker probably won't add to his 1, I don't spose Fraizer Campbell or Carl Jenkinson will either. Let alone Jay Rodriguez, John Ruddy but perhaps an outside chance for James Ward-Prowse.

Lewis Cook, Jack Cork, Harry Winks or Dominic Solanke possibly.

A one cap wonder but back in 85/86.  I have trouble with years myself.  85/86 tends to stick in my mind though.

It's about 8 months old but this is probably right up our street. You have eight minutes.

oh and before I take this quiz I'll say Chris Kirkland might be one. Charlie Austin nearly made the list had he come on for England.
