Yeah I did make a note of this a little while ago, as Accrington and Creepies form took an upward trend. Without being harsh to Chesterfield, we've got to go and smash them off the park this weekend and show some real intent and add to our goal difference. A win will do mind :)

You have to admire the way Accy keep grinding it out, I keep expecting them to hit the rocks, but so far they haven't.

Just mentioned it on another thread. Around Christmas new year I mentioned they were the form team, next to us, closely followed by Crawley. At the time, I made conscious effort to mention that the winner of our postponed tie would probably be the team that kick on for automatic. As already mentioned, I think they're still thirsty for milk but even more hungry for the title. Interesting weeks ahead!

Lincoln know how to grind out a late point, but 2 wins in 10 since the turn of the year suggests that they’ve burned out a bit. They’ll have to start winning again pretty swiftly to stand a chance.

I went to Fulham v Sheffield United last night and this won't be a shock to anyone on here but the standard of football was absolutely brilliant. Fulham were class from minute 15-90. They play a brand of Luke Williams football but are absolutely devastating on the counter and in Mitrovic have a decent striker with an eye for goal. It wouldn't surprise me if Fulham are in the Premiership next season.

Not bad results for us in the league last night either. Time for us to go on our run of form and steal the 3rd automatic spot!

We weren't very good second half, didn't hold the ball at all, just gave it straight back to them all the time. Luckily our opposition plumbed new depths of League Two mediocrity.

Well, we weren't brilliant, but good enough.

Main worry is that we created very little; but I think we defended well against what was, admittedly a p**s poor team. When we consider that we are missing much of our first choice defense, it wasn't that bad. Pym made a couple of quality saves, and yes, they had a tendency to screw up every opportunity, but the whole team - esp Macca, Jay and Taylor - worked hard at the back. It is also the least nervous I have felt in the last minutes for a long time.

The one negative, if it can be called that seeing as we won, is we have scored twice just once in the last nine games.

Don't think we are playing well enough, but two big games now. A chance to build a safety gap to eighth place , or at least preserve what we have with a couple of draws.

Well done City but don't think we will be good enough to get promotion this term.All these scrappy results and the inability to score more than one goal a game will take its toll. Goodness knows how we are still in the running , beats me.

IMHO Vale looked the better side all over the pitch, they'll probably wonder how they didnt get something with all their approach work, corners, and goal attempts. Citys defense, in no small part due to Pym was outstanding, so the teams kinda balanced up. They did present the ball back to Vale far too often, but thats too bad.

ot sure if it is down to what is practiced at the Cat and Fiddle, but this tactic of aimless clearances and hoofing just loses us possession far too much. A decent team will break us down as has been seen too many times this season. Great to grind out a result tonight but the passing was beyond abysmal, we just cannot seem to keep possession, or maybe tactically we don't care anymore. Thought Pym played well and defence in general (hoofing aside) also looked okay. The 2 guys up front can work their socks off all day long but the goals are not going to come with the current tactics.

I think this result is just a temporary reprieve and we'll be found out before too many weeks.

Yep its entirely down to us, if we win every game then we go up, if we win 75% we will certainly get into the play offs at least, as Audrey says lots of 6 pointers for all the teams above us team will drop points.

In one game beat them by 2 goals and we'll be level on points and GD with them. It ain't over 'til it's over and that applies massively in this league, this season. We could easily go on to win our game in hand and be 3 points from automatic. I'm sure nearly every team from ourselves up to Wycombe are saying similar things. Look at today's fixtures. Our PO rivals have some very winnable games. If we lose at Exeter there could be a lot of catching up to do. Not saying we're out of it but to get a PO spot will take some effort. If we get in the POs it should be on the back of good form, which would be very positive for the PO semis.

A number of reasons.  Always found Chesterfield fans a decent bunch... the famous game back in the 80's summed it up. Match postponed on Friday night at Saltergate because of floodlight failure, it was rapidly re arranged for the Saturday afternoon and those Town fans who lurked around were put up by Chesterfield fans.

Interesting, I have always found their fans were pretty arrogant, after our defeat at Wembley my small party were abused after the game outside Wembley and also on the train at Waterloo coming home, I have no sympaty for them.

What was more disappointing for me was I had my teenage autistic step daughter with me having her first visit to Wembley and it upset her a lot.

I have to say, the only other football teams I have a vested interest in are Southampton & Eastleigh (both local to me).

Half Man, Half Biscuit will be pleased.  I guess if we think back to the time when we beat them in the PO 25 years ago, their fans were top notch that night at Prenton.  So for no other reason I'm pleased to see them back.

There can't have been a more amazing opening 7 minutes to a game in the history of the Club than that first leg at the CG...

If anyone ever wonders why you watch the Town, especially in recent years, those two Tranmere games and the Leicester final all within a couple of weeks of each other shows them why.  Clearly the Sunderland game at Wembley was a much better performance, but the drama in those games in 1993 is hard to forget.

And if that wasn't enough, you had this - probably the most electric atmosphere I've ever experienced at the CG for a non-play off game. In fact it did have the feel of a play off semi-final. Magnificent...

Other way round for me... however the waters are muddied. The last I read was that Cov were moving out of the Ricoh again, to a rugby league stadium, upgraded for lower league football.

Exeter getting a redevelopment, so that we would get more than this season's pitiful away allocation.

Coventry v Exeter today at Wembley, looks like it will be almost double the attendance of yesterdays Rotherham v Shrewbury which was a little over 26k with Exeter having sold over 11k and Coventry 37k.

Good luck to them both but for me I would rather keep Exeter down for selfish reasons, so I have another local game next season to go to.

On the pitch there is little betweeen the sides for me so I think it will be close unless one sides keeper decided to model himself on Loris Karius or there is a sending off.

 Cov's presence leaves 2 eligible clubs who've never qualified for the FL PO's in the 31 years.

 One is FGR, which with only one season is understandable, the other is not a whole lot further from the CG, but isn't Cheltnum.

Good turn out of just over 50k there almost double the L1 play off attendance yesterday.
