Title: Modern football club ownership and Lee Power
Post by: pauld on Friday, February 9, 2018, 12:09:44
Have a read of this write-up of the tussle between 3 very wealthy men over loans surrounding the ownership of Charlton. It makes for depressing reading for people wanting engaged owners who care about the future of clubs at the heart of their communities. But gives a very pertinent insight into how wealthy owners actually look on football clubs as part of their "asset portfolio"

No, it's not directly related to Power, but I think it gives some interesting background.

As far as I'm concerned we've never really established how Power came to get involved and the links to Jed and his merry men.

Our court case perhaps cast Power in a good light, as far as he wasn't Jed... what sealed the deal for me, that something was badly wrong was seeing Harry Agombar playing in the final home game v Orient.

It may be coincidence but we've been sliding ever since....

tbf, I think Agombar's involvement was a hold-over from Jed's time - i.e. an agreement had been made by Jed that Power felt bound to honour. I'm led to believe that Agombar Sr has a very persuasive manner about him.
