Title: Would you be angry if it was your child?
Post by: Missswin89 on Sunday, December 24, 2017, 12:05:07
Hi, I am a primary school teacher (year 2), and don't let children go to the toilet during lessons. Would you object to the rule if it was your child?

You do know this is a football forum? Wouldn’t Mumsnet be more appropriate?

I’m 63 and piss when I want. Children should too.

I pissed myself at school once because I wasn't allowed to go to the toilet.

They get more than enough chances to go. Pee at break or hold it in. One of the mums complained because her daughter had to hold on all afternoon. She asked 2 minutes after lunch.

Same, then I got shouted at for pissing myself. I was 5, and there began a lifelong hatred of authority.

Absolutely. Why on earth wouldn't you? If it was an adult, would you have the same rule? How humiliated would a kid be? (I am speaking from the perspective of having a 6 year old here) who despite best efforts and encouragement - struggles in this area. Blocking him to teach him a lesson, is teaching him a (negative) lesson about teachers, or respect stead.

Assuming this isn't a piss take (ho ho)

It does raise the question about the numbers of infants entering the early school system who are not potty trained.  It is now not uncommon for little tackers of 3.5-4, never being taught, and still wearing nappies.

Apparently the increase is down to lax parenting....

It's not about potty training for some. It is about how developed their bladder is. Smaller kids, smaller bladder = need to  pee more often. Mine will happily use toilet but needs it more often than others, on account of being small for his age. (one of youngest in class also).

I do remind them to go at breaktime. Lessons are never longer than a couple of hours. The rule should be no problem if they go for a wee at breaktime. Teachers don't leave class either.

Once one asks they are all desperate. It is easier to make them wait until break, something they should be capable of doing, because as I've said lessons are only a couple of hours tops.

I would be livid if you stop my child from going to the toilet. Your get a bad rep if any child soils themselves and probably be hated.

That's probably because they're bored. Our kids are these days forced into a Govist educational straightjacket way too early.

I always say no, unless they have a letter about a medical problem.

Its hardly going to hurt their education.

Plus you get half the year off as holidays and inset days (when you're not striking)  :fishing:

People have different bladder functions, thought about that?

When I was at primary school we had to ask the teacher who would give us permission. One girl queued at his desk to ask permission because she felt sick. She vommed over his desk  :)

Does anybody else remember the troll yonks ago asking for information about underage drinking places? That was done on multiple forums as well, and this reminds me of that. That one took off, this one didn't. Sometimes they just don't develop into anything.

If my child pissed itself because of your power trip, i would personally flush your head in the school toilet.

If you don’t let them you need to take long look at yourself. My eldest is 4 and has not issues with going to the toilet and hasn’t don’t for a long time but to be told to hold it for an unknown time, that’s a different matter.
I’ll go as far as saying it’s a cuntish thing to do. As adults it’s unconfortable to hold a piss so do children it’s got to hundred times worse.

Metaphorical of course. As apposed to the actual reality of a teacher letting kids piss themselves for his own gratification, which appears to offend you less 😂

I notice the supposed teacher who started this thread has been sussed after posting the same on various football forums

‘If I'm not mistaken this poster is a right perve who has a fetish about this sort of thing, seen them banned from other boards I use for posting threads all about this and kids clothes/how they dress. Proper wrong'un who needs banning.’
