I think it's that rarest of things, a good idea from football administrators*. Teams playing against similar standard teams (okay, and England playing against better teams) outside of tournaments is a good thing. Especially for us, I suspect.

* Don't worry, they've contrived to make the detail baffling, but the root idea is good

Expect this latest incarnation to result in a period of domination by The Hun coupled with a resurgence of The Azzurri.
