Title: Gluten free food options in Swindon Post by: FreddySTFC! on Wednesday, September 20, 2017, 16:46:52 Having recently been diagnosed with Coeliac disease & every home game involving a 180 mile round trip from Wales eating on matchdays has become a bit of a chore to say the least. Anybody know of anywhere within reasonable walking distance of the ground that serves gluten free food? Preferably to take away rather than sit down.

First place that sprung to my mind too, although never actually eaten there myself. Are you still following a vegetarian diet, John? Is there a Pizza Express in Swindon?Title: Re: Gluten free food options in Swindon Post by: Tails on Wednesday, September 20, 2017, 20:01:18 https://www.coeliac.org.uk/gluten-free-diet-and-lifestyle/venue-guide/ may help. Will see if I can get more.
I think so. I don't live in Swindon but there used to be one in old town and one in the outlet centre! Title: Re: Gluten free food options in Swindon Post by: Simon Pieman on Wednesday, September 20, 2017, 20:25:23 Best bet would be to head to the Regent Circus area which is a 15 minute walk to the ground. There you have the chains like Prezzo, ASK (Italian chains), Nandos, Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Rendezvous Express (oriental) and a Pizza Hut takeaway which all have gluten free menus/options.

Are you still following a vegetarian diet, John? Still eating seafood occasionally. You can take away pizza from Pizza Express. The Swindon one is at the top of Victoria Road. A lot of places have gluten free menu options, but I'd still be cautious about cross contamination within the kitchen. Title: Re: Gluten free food options in Swindon Post by: BambooToTheFuture on Thursday, September 21, 2017, 12:26:01 Not a meal as such but they do a great selection of Gluten Free snacks (that are still healthy too). Head to www.naturalbalancefoods.co.uk they make the TREK bars & Nakd bars. Amongst other stuff but nearly everything in their range is Gluten Free. Generally sell in boxes so works out way cheaper than the 95p -£1 price you pay for one in the shops. Worth a look.

If you want to be an ethical eater in Swindon, then look no further than Swindon Pulse. http://swindon-pulse.co.uk/ A gem which has been with us for many years. Handy on matchdays... beer in the Rolly then walk through town and down Fleming Way Title: Re: Gluten free food options in Swindon Post by: Ginginho on Thursday, September 21, 2017, 14:37:14 Really. I mention that I occasionally enjoy a green tea once and get my manhood questioned and we're going to let this dietary fadery go by unabused?! There's a slight difference between having a disease and choosing to drink homosexual tea. Title: Re: Gluten free food options in Swindon Post by: Samdy Gray on Thursday, September 21, 2017, 14:52:25 I also drink green tea (and the occasional chamomile too) but that's got nothing to do with my alopecia.

Title: Re: Gluten free food options in Swindon Post by: BambooToTheFuture on Thursday, September 21, 2017, 16:45:11 Cheers Reg for the Pulse site. I'd rather buy local (i'm Derbyshire based but you know..) if I can so I'll check that out.
r Ginginho, I drink loads of different herbal & spice teas (along with proper mans tea too). Actually there's a certain irony here as i'm currently drinking a Pukka 3 Ginger tea right now. Perfect with a teaspoon of honey or agave in. I must be super super gay. Title: Re: Gluten free food options in Swindon Post by: Saxondale on Thursday, September 21, 2017, 16:49:25 How can tea be homosexual I should stop dipping my nob in it. Title: Re: Gluten free food options in Swindon Post by: Simon Pieman on Thursday, September 21, 2017, 16:51:13 I should stop dipping my nob in it. Hope that's not the reason the tea is green Title: Re: Gluten free food options in Swindon Post by: Ginginho on Thursday, September 21, 2017, 17:06:27 I occasionally drink green tea myself, it's just fun taking the piss out of Saxondale, what with his healthy lifestyle and excellent fitness. Pah! Whatever next? Mung bean enemas?
