Title: Dog Friendly Pubs in Swindon
Post by: Sippo on Wednesday, September 20, 2017, 09:18:28
I know of a few out of town, but any good ones in Swindon.

- The sun inn;
- The Plough by Junc 15 of M4;
- Royal Oak, Bishopstone;
- Red Lion, Cricklade.

Ideally that also do food.

Most of the ones in the town center seem to let them in at weekends.

Yeah. I then sit outside.

When I was a kid you sat outside the pub in the car, and got brought a bag of crisps and a bottle of pop. Sure the dog would be happy to do the same, and probably just settle for the crisps.

Not a local any more but on trips to Swindon have taken mine to both The Wheatsheaf and The Hop with no issue. Not sure if they do food though.

Glue pot quite regularly has dogs inside. Any 'proper' pub would be the same at a guess.

Do you need to take the dog?

Usually under the threat of physical harm if you touched any switches on the dashboard or the horn.
Good old '70's parenting  :D

Christ you remind me of my old man sometimes (brought up in Swindon in the 40's and 50's). He always tells the tales of being taken to various pubs around the town by his old man and being deposited in the beer garden with a bag of crisps and a glass of pop for hours on end.
