I want it to be a yes as I still think we are capable, but I fear it will be a no and the players heads will drop when they go a goal down in a game.

Final day of season, all or nothing we'll need a point to guarantee safety. Shrews and Gills will have to win by 2 to even have a chance of staying up and us losing. Gills will win 2-1. Shrews will win 4-2 and we'll lose 1-0 in 90+4 by that man Ajose....

In response to the question....No.

Come on Reg, commit, you've had us down for what seems like ages now.

Admittedly people describing the next 2 games as "winnable" have probably put the kibosh on things as we don't win winnable.

But history shows that we don't do easy when there is a much more difficult path available. So we'll do something like losing the next 2.and win the last 3 to stay up on goal difference. So something like the NT effort at Scunthorpe will end up keeping us up.

If everyone approaches Saturday with zero expectations then we might just be ok.

Winnable. Fuck off. A pox on anyone who ever says that again.

I think we will, but what do people think we need point wise to stay up, I think we might just make it on goal difference on 51 points but think that probably 52 points would be required, so its 3 wins and a draw! from our last 5 games

Not unless the recall him from his loan ahead of time (if the deal in place allows them to do that)

Not unless the recall him from his loan ahead of time (if the deal in place allows them to do that)

They can't recall him, if he's on a standard loan:
Quote
   any recall clause requiring the early termination of a Standard Loan can only be included in a full Season Standard Loan and this can only be activated during the second (January) Transfer Window;
...
 any other early termination of a Standard Loan must be by way of a mutual agreement in writing (including by way of a recall clause within the Standard Loan Agreement) between the Transferor Club, the Transferee Club and the Player but can only be completed after the expiry of 28 days and only during a Transfer Window (but subject to Regulation 53.1.4 below);

53.1.4 is not Applicable:
Quote
53.1.4 A Player whose Standard Loan expires (or terminates) at the end of the Season of the Transferee Club but prior to the completion of the League Matches of his Transferor Club (where it is a Member Club) will not be eligible to play in any remaining League Matches for the Transferor Club in that Season;

Let it be "third time lucky", after the abrupt halts that followed our two previous "two wins in a row" sequences this season.  As already widely and wisely commented, it is now a case of one game at a time.

I opened the thread and said yes. Two weeks ago we looked dead and buried and devoid of idea and fight. However, an upturn hopefully just at the right time has given me renewed hope. We have to win sat.and then carry on to next match.  If we get the wins needed others will falter and we will be fine. League 1 looks a lot more appealing than league 2 that's for sure.  I just hope if we stay up Power recruits early, some quality and provides a competitive squad that will put a smile on our faces. #COYR.

My only game of this season was at home to Millwall - and after a shaky start we were deserved winners.
Massively impressed with Obika and Ajose up front - both were totally switched on to where the goal was for the whole game.

So, I haven't had to witness all the dross that you lot have had to witness, so maybe I'm talking purely based on the immediate present - but from what I saw in that 90 minutes I think we have every chance, we have fight, and more importantly, we have momentum.

So it's 4 yesses from me

sadly probably not quite. Think it will be close but without couple of Bristol Rovers 2000-01 style collapses from others around us don't think the Great Escape is going to happen. Probably be sealed when Norris blazes over chance v Charlton that Ajose would have snapped up.

The difference is 00-01, we were on 48 points with 4 games left, and of the 4 games left, we could muster 4 more points to get the magic 52. Winning games when you're not very good is difficult, it's why you get into trouble in the 1st place, as Rovers found out.

Likelihood is that we'll get something like 4 from the final 4, and end up with 47... not enough.

It will be the backdrop to the close/pre season. This relegation should have been avoidable, it was evident early doors we were in for a struggle, but not enough was done about trying to change that. Lessons were not learned from the previous season.

If Power is at all bothered then we should see evidence in the summer. More of the same won't work in Div 4.

Oldham have been playing anti relegation football since about October.... not pretty but it works. Try and keep a clean sheet and maybe nick a goal somewhere.. if not accept the 0-0. We've only just started doing it... way too late.

Win tomorrow stay up. Draw tomorrow can still stay up. Lose tomorrow go down. With the games bury and vale have left 49 or 50 points should be enough. Think scunthorpe will be our hardest game and we will do well to get a draw, fancy us to win at Charlton so tomorrow is all important. Need greater emphasis on attack so would start Gladwin rather than Thomas. My team 352 Vigs, Thompson (if fit) Branco Conroy Dabo Brophy Ince Gladwin Colkett Obika Ajose.
