How good do you need them to be (do you want them to beat-match and mix songs?) Have you got speakers and an amp, and necessary lighting, or do you need the DJ to bring these too? If you don't want any mixing etc and the kids have a set idea of what songs they want, you're probably better off using a playlist maybe.
