Title: Season Tickets 2017/2018
Post by: pauld on Sunday, February 19, 2017, 17:46:11
About time they release some details isn't it? They were on sale by March 1st last year.

Rope people in before we go down and all that  :D
This again. Shows how far we've come in a year - just over one year on and we're in about the same place we were last year (except possibly in slightly lower position in the table). Anyone got any idea when prices etc are being released?

Nope, only that last year was 20th Feb
http://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/sport/14291088.Swindon_Town_season_tickets_frozen_for_a_third_season/?ref=mr&lp=15

And that it was even earlier the year before (9th Feb), the first window "closed" on 28th Feb..

www.swindontownfc.co.uk/documents/st-15-16-brochurefinal247-2259535.pdf

So any minute now really. The cynic in me says they are waiting for a good spell to try and maximize sales. But that's got to be BS, they surely have to have the finance companies set up and the like.

Maybe they are re-jigging to try to accommodate the prospect of division 4 football.

I'm happy for it to be later rather than sooner.

Not sure if true or not but someone on twitter said a week or so they had heard that finance option was no more.

Cant see it myself, as that would be business suicide

bloody hope not.

it's bloody useful that, especially when you only get two or three week early bird window, it's a fair chunk just to play it.

True, but the other option is that we could have saved up beforehand knowing we could pay it off in full in March.

Yes, some people may not be able to afford the saving up front, but not everyone. Unless this is just an excuse.

If people have used the instalment plan over the last few seasons, then they wouldn't be likely to save the same amount in addition to the monthly payments, that would be 75 quid a month, which for many people is a big outlay.

To do that though, people would have had to have known it was going to be cancelled? Otherwise, Batch's point stands

anyone know what the junior red membership u18 is... can't recall that being there before.... may have missed it

https://www.eticketing.co.uk/swindontown/memberships.aspx?findmembership=0 (https://www.eticketing.co.uk/swindontown/memberships.aspx?findmembership=0)

probably just a ticketing mistake, here's hoping they've reduced the u18 prices next season :) :)

(edit, yes I know we are already in 16/17 before anyone says anything,  junior red has always been u10/u11 depending on season...)

I started reading this thread from the start, thinking it was new news about season tickets. The grumbles and other comments seemed to ring true for this season so far. Then I came to a comment I had posted and got all confused. Then I noticed the dates!!!

Definitely a 'doh' moment, but the atmosphere of negativity about the club and the "will I / won't I" renew stuff is pretty similar.

FWIW I'll be renewing for our next Div 4 adventure. And I suspect I'll get mildly excited during the close season anticipating transfers and the new kit. After all, footy isn't that serious a business*.

*Unless going bust becomes a real possibility.

family packs are cheaper and more flexible this year.

me and the u18 lad was £500 last year, £460 this. side stands only and need to be sat together...u11 remains £30 for jr robins membership..

so £40 off, nothing earth shattering if we go down mind..

There has been a reduction on the average price, with lower prices for u21s and better/cheaper family options.

10 month only available in phase 1 period. So I don't think it's so much people choosing 9 vs 10 as a case of ensuring people who don't buy/renew during phase 1 will still be paid up at the same time

I guess it does force people to buy/renew sooner. If you're going to pay by instalments it's a no brainer though isn't it?

Isn't phase 1 only for renewals? The 9 month option is open for new ST's as well as renewals. (At least that's how I read it)

Agree with this. The only exception being I've renewed - I still get a buzz from going, even if the season as a whole is an anticlimax.

Was wondering the other day if having something to play for, be it play offs or avoiding relegation, is preferable to just bumbling along in mid table for a whole season?

A safe mid table season has probably been a rarity over the last 30 years or so and certainly for this decade so far.

But yeah, I will be renewing.
Hopefully a buzz due to excitement next season and not more nerves and increased blood pressure.

Title: Re: Season Tickets 2017/2018

Its easy, just click finance option and fill out your details

Title: Re: Season Tickets 2017/2018
Post by: Simon Pieman on Friday, March 31, 2017, 09:19:16
Yep fill in details select finance option, the credit check is done online and they confirm there and then, finally to confirm you get a pin number by text to enter in just to make sure you are happy to sign off.

Al done in 10 mins from start to finish. A few days later you get a letter in the post telling you the date of the first direct debit payment.

I filled mine in - no problem.  Tried to get a second one for somebody else and it would only allow it to do it in my name!!  Popped into the shop and a very pleasant young lady called Vikki sorted it out in five minutes!  Now I am left wondering why did I bother to renew after all the frustrations of this season - would have sold a lot more if Power had announced a change of manager/head coach!!

Title: Re: Season Tickets 2017/2018
Post by: Batch on Friday, March 31, 2017, 09:38:11
also if like me you previously had separate adult and (eg) u18 tickets the online renewal still charges you the individual prices rather than family price.

the shop can change it and pretty soon after you can go through the credit application online in your own time...

I've been really undecided about renewing, but bowed to pressure from my son.  I've llogged in to my account and clicked on find/renew season tickets expecting to see our seats listed.  Instead I just get a plan of the ground and seem to have to select seats as if we're new season ticket holders?

Obviously I've left it to the last minute and now can't ring or go into the shop, so can anyone on here help? Also, it's struck me that up until yesterday when I had a text saying phase 1 ended today, I've had no communication about renewal at all, nothing through the post or by email!

Have you tried going to your basket? I kept getting a message saying I hadn't chosen seats but when I went to my basket my renewal was in there.

I think it took me about 20 tries to get to that stage mind you, so don't give up  :suicide:

What a bloody fiasco.  Turns out mine and my son's season tickets are under my dad's account hence why I couldn't see them.  No idea how that's happened as last season I renewed them through my account.  Probably explains why I've had no letter or email from the club about renewing.

We've just renewed after nearly 2 hours of assing about, but the price was £500 instead of £460, so I'll be ringing the club on Monday to try and get that sorted.  Surely the new pricing structure should have been there. What a shit system.

First time you in 10 years I haven't renewed either. Even when we were shit before when Paul Hart led us to L2 I still wanted to be part of the rollercoaster. That feeling currently does not exist for me. Feel quite disconnected as a supporter. Would rather put my money into the trust instead. I'll just be one of those annoying fans that will just turn up now and again next season.

Just use the £10 nationwide tickets for another season when sponsorship runs out. That's what I'm doing and putting the difference and a bit more into the trust. I'm working on the basis we won't sell out. Think I'm safe.

All sorted, although my dad ended up going to the ticket office, because the phone line goes to ticket master who couldn't help!

Seems like the systems aren't linked, as the ticket office still had my old address, but eticketing shows my new one. Still no idea how our seats had been linked to my dad's account. Apparently it was a bit of a palava getting it sorted and at the cheaper price, but thanks to Jason at the ticket office for sorting it.

When the 1st league table on the Beeb website comes out pre-season, we'll only be out of the relegation slots to the Conference courtesy of Wycombe and Yeovil, if FGR come up.  Tranny's promotion would bump us up to the relative safety of 21st.

Although a very small step in the right direction I doubt it will have fans rushing to buy season tickets.

just to check, it's presumably only for adult season ticket holders, right?

only got 1 voucher anyway, thought the u16 might have got £5 or £10

Correct, it's a good will gesture to those who have already purchased, not a way to get more sales, but they have also reverted prices to Phase 1 (probably be announced Monday)

Also a issue number on the bottom right hand side of the Ticket.

mines 2000 so I'm guess over 2000 adult ST tickets sold (so far)

2090 here. I did notice the letter from Lee was hand signed though. I think had there been 8,000 he might have got quite a sore wrist  :girlgiggle:

This is the give-away. These numbers aren't serial numbers or total sold or anything. They're "Good fan points". And they've marked Tans' card as a bit of a tosser :)

He probably wanted us to get relegated so the season ticket sales would drop and he wouldn't have to sign so many. Cos then he'd have to spend money. On a new pen or something. BOOOO

Dear Jo,

It is with regret that we have decided not to provide you with a season ticket for the forthcoming season as we feel it is time we part company.  Over the years we have grown apart, what with you wanting to see success and the club now being happy to languish in the lower echelons.  We hope you have fun finding a new Saturday past time, unless you fancy putting out some cones mid week, in which case we have an opening you may be interested in.

All the best

STFC

I can confirm this is definitely the case - just checked mine and it's 240, or "marginally better than that pig fucker Tans" as it's known in the trade :)

Rob was actually near enough spot on.  Turns out Zebra Finance never received my paperwork, the club still had my old address (despite it being changed twice) and therefore my season ticket has not been renewed.

Fair play to the girl in the shop who's gone out of her way to get it sorted over the last hour and ended up having to do the application on my behalf, because I wasn't able to select the correct price.  She had to release mine and my son's seats onto general sale momentarily begore reselecting the,  but remarked ' I don't think there's any risk of the seats going, season tickets aren't exactly flying out the door'.

you'd think that they wouldn't make the comment if sales were normal though.

but we knew that anyway, nobody reduces prices for a laugh.

What a strange business STFC is. I've been a season ticket holder for 10 straight seasons but chose not to renew. Any self respecting business would surely engage with one of its customers if it decided to stop doing business with you. No follow up letters, no phone calls, nothing. Almost as if the club/Power couldn't give a shit. The Trust on the other hand consistently email me to entice me back.

tbf, that's nothing new, the club's always been bad at that. Totally agree they should be chasing up people who don't renew though.

Bought 2xST's in the DRS yesterday. Although averaging about 20 homes game a season haven't bothered with ST's for donkeys years, through a combination of cant be arsed and also the concern of being sat next to the same moaning idiot - of which we have our fair share - for a whole season. Out of interest anyone on here in row I??

Dipped put last season as i was sick and tired of the same bullshit 'tippy tappy its the swindon way dont ya know'.  I missed my team and whilst i am not a fan of power actually believe flitcroft could be a good call.  So i relent against my instinct about backing power and decide to get a season ticket only to find the websites not selling them WTF.
