Title: Front door
Post by: Arriba on Wednesday, August 31, 2016, 13:30:41
Looking to get a new door fitted before the winter comes. Seals are on the way out on the current one so want to replace.

Any recommendations of good tradesmen or who to avoid advice welcome .

Require a upvc door with a glass side panel. Mrs wants blue if possible. Ta.

My father-in-law.

Assume he want to the same medical college as Dr Pepper and Dr Fox?  :D

Seriously though if the seals are on the way out wouldn't just new glass and seals be cheaper than a whole new door?

We replaced our grotty old UPVC door last year for the same reason, the seals had gone and the door would let water in.

We went with a composite door, look much nicer in my opinion.

We always used these guys: http://www.dawindowsanddoorsltd.co.uk/ for any door and window repairs.

We went for a design similar to this

£890 fitted.

Sam's father in-law sorted me out. Resealed the door and fitted a new letter box. A good tradesman who I fully endorse.

Kingfisher Windows.

My mum had new windows and doors fitted by them a few years back. There have been a few minor problems with the door since (it dropped a bit in the frame etc.) but they have always come out and rectified promptly without kicking up a stink.
