Title: Range Ovens
Post by: Sippo on Monday, February 22, 2016, 15:43:26
Any recommendations on a range oven for circa £1k?

Any recommendations on fitters? Most companies will install at around £100.

Also need to replace the current extractor hood, sideways of about 10 cm.

Ask the missus, she'll know...women like their kitchens.

We got a Belling 5 burner about 6 years ago. Never had a problem with it and came rated on Which?

Think we got ours from Curry's and they fitted it free.

Got a Aga duel fuel 18 months ago and it's brilliant. On the dear side but has everything 4 ovens and a slow cooker and good service. Also you don't need heating with one of these babies!

We've also got a Belling 5 ring (ceramic) range cooker.  Had it about 4 years and never had a problem.  I got it online from Appliances Direct.  My husband and his dad fitted it.  I also managed to get a brand new Belling extractor hood on ebay for less than half what it was worth.

Is a range oven basically an oven with hobs?

It's twice the width of a normal cooker, so has an oven each side or in some cases two.

She's the one who wants one. It's fucking annoying.

So we have to take a kitchen cabinet out, and the width will then be 90cm. I think you have to have a certain gap each side.

Best not to question it by logic or deduction, just  and stump up the cash, cheaper in the long run.

I use to have one. Bit pointless unless you're cooking for ten. Twice as much oven to clean too  ;)

I miss my range oven. Was great when having family or friends round for dinner.

i have a smeg dual oven, 6 gas burner, its class, you dont need to be concerned about the distance on either side of the oven its the top hob side, basically nothing lower than your hood, 300mm either side if i remember correctly. i got mine from currys, delivered, and i installed it with the exception of the Gas, got my mate who is GasSafe.
