Title: Forum occupations Post by: Talk Talk on Thursday, February 4, 2016, 21:52:57 I know quite a few forum members personally and there's quite a few work related threads on here but for a laugh I thought I would start a "guess the occupation" thread. Here we go then:

I don't know what Tim Vine looks like, but apparently he's down the road about 100 yards. I'll find out where and have a look in the window.

Twice, also briefly in a pub in London Bridge... that was during my brief spell in London before fleeing back to the safety of the West. Met quite a few TEFers a few times, don't really know any of them well. Not sure about guessing jobs, I know too many of them. I do presume that just about everyone works at Nationwide in some capacity though, it's just a safe bet in Swindon. Title: Re: Forum occupations Post by: JayBox325 on Friday, February 5, 2016, 11:58:02 I met Nemo at Bristol City away last year. Even sorted him out a ticket. Title: Re: Forum occupations Post by: Talk Talk on Saturday, February 6, 2016, 12:28:03 Well this thread morphed quite nicely.
There's another angle on this. Who on the TEF would you like to meet in person but haven't so far? For me it is: suttonred - promised him a beer but he keeps avoiding me, can't think why arriba - just to confirm my mental image Ells - well obviously 8) Ginginho - surprised we haven't (or have we?) Horlock07 - we could talk trains :D Bob's Orange - as per Ginginho Also, who do you not want to meet? I would go with: Nobody really! Title: Re: Forum occupations Post by: Ardiles on Saturday, February 6, 2016, 12:35:11 There are folk on here that I've been conversing with (on here and, before that, on MOS) for over 15 years - and who I've never met in person. It would almost be a shame now if I did. I'd rather keep the mental pictures I have of people in one piece, and not shatter the illusion with a dose of reality.
Title: Re: Forum occupations Post by: LucienSanchez on Saturday, February 6, 2016, 12:45:52 I've met maybe 15/20 people from here in some way or another (away day trains, mini buses, pub quizzes, pre-season trips to Brighton, beers for the sake of it, previously working in Nationwide HQ).
I don't go any more though, and JFW spurned my advances and got married. I still love Bennett. Title: Re: Forum occupations Post by: Arriba on Saturday, February 6, 2016, 12:49:02 There was me thinking talk talk might have wanted to meet me to get pissed have a laugh and eat curry. Oh well.
If it's about mental images, best to stick with what you have I think. Works for me with people on here. I've met very few TEFers and I like it that way. Forum world / real world I like to keep separate. Not that meeting individuals would be a bad thing of course. The occasions it has happened have been good. Title: Re: Forum occupations Post by: Talk Talk on Saturday, February 6, 2016, 12:53:41 There was me thinking talk talk might have wanted to meet me to get pissed have a laugh and eat curry. Oh well. First game of the season. Title: Re: Forum occupations Post by: Sussex on Saturday, February 6, 2016, 13:56:57 Think I met Reg at the same game, and married one.
Plenty of others but Batch still eludes me.. Title: Re: Forum occupations Post by: Ginginho on Saturday, February 6, 2016, 14:17:29 Well this thread morphed quite nicely. You nearly stole my change in the County once I believe, the barmaid got confused and gave it to you. Title: Re: Forum occupations Post by: Exiled Bob on Saturday, February 6, 2016, 14:42:14 The only person on here that I have definitely seen (but not spoken to...) is TheDukeofBanbury....who I recognised from a photo that he once posted of himself with a fish. I've seen him at a few away games over the years....Torquay during the Di Canio era springs to mind.
As for his occupation......Duke of Banbury, presumably. Title: Re: Forum occupations Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Saturday, February 6, 2016, 16:14:37 I've met maybe 15/20 people from here in some way or another (away day trains, mini buses, pub quizzes, pre-season trips to Brighton, beers for the sake of it, previously working in Nationwide HQ). I don't go any more though, and JFW spurned my advances and got married. I still love Bennett. You'll always be my favourite ginger ally cat xx Title: Re: Forum occupations Post by: Not that Nice If I'm Honest on Saturday, February 6, 2016, 19:50:56 I've met -

There is something deliciously wistful about that Alex. I bet that you still have soggy bedding about JFW when you wake up in the mornings Quote I still love Bennett. Yes, we always noticed. And we noticed the reciprocity too |
