Title: Printer Crap ...
Post by: fittons_coaching_badge on Thursday, December 10, 2015, 20:24:06
So I got my colour and black cartridges refilled but still whenever I print it is faded.  I have tried wiping the head numerous times but still faded.

Any ideas?
Also I get my refills from that little shop on commercial road ... Is there anywhere else better people can recommend?

I cannot put into words how much I detest printers. I am sure they were put on earth by some malevolent being for the sole reason of getting right on my fucking tits. My advice is to shout at it, throw things at it, kick it and punch it. Throwing it out of a high window is likely to be most satisfactory.

I hope that helps.

HP are normally fairly good.

The problem you'll find is the cost of replacement ink. They usually cost more than the printer itself!

I'm using a Canon which I am pleased with, inks readily available on line at keen prices.  Previous to that I had a Lexmark which did not produce such good quality prints and the inks were very expensive.

I have an HP 4502 envy. It scans, copies and prints. A set of cartridges can be bought for £15. I can also print from my smartphone. All for less than £50.

Your printer head sounds knackered.

I had a Lexmark that cost a fortune for ink. Then an HP that lasted for years. Then a Kodak that didn't. Now I have a Canon.

That would be crazy!  Not bloody had it that long!!!

Might just get that HP envy thing suggested a few posts back.  Just need it to use occasionally.  This one is Canon and to be frank just pisses me off with the fact it doesnt last very long at all.

How long have you had it? Could be under warranty?

Actually when I said I have cleaneed the printer head I really meant have taken out the cartirdge cleaned the head of that and put it back in, rather than taking out the actual printer head.

You should have a cleaning function on there somewhere.  Have you tried that?

I'm not very tech savvy. Up until now all functions worked and I had surpassed myself and I was happy.
