Both? He's an excellent fighter, but a really awful human being. I don't see how those two things really merit an 'or'

It going to be a total borefest of a fight.  Jab, jab, hug each other and both fall into the ropes, repeat on a loop until Wlad grinds it out.

Yes Fury is an utter cunt as well

As he lives in Morecambe we have the pleasure of him on the local news quite regularly... The nicest thing I can say is he is a very peculiar and complex character.

They seem to be trying to get their excuses in early today.

lets be fair, Klitschko has been a cut above for years and Tyson had him from about round 2.  Joshua looks a better long term bet but well done to the cunt tonight.

Joshua v Fury for the championship at Wembley would do serious business. Wilder might get him first though.

Klitschko was poor. Took him till last round to properly go for it, should have gone for it from round 9/10 onwards. Superb from Fury though, one of the best British boxing performances ever

think Joshua has been immense, but I think he has a couple of tricky fights to overcome before he gets a shot at fury.

if Joshua is as good as he looks, fury will sidestep bin for a bit anyway

I think it's bad that even a sports website can't write an article about him without mentioning comments he has made.
He's world champion and all everyone seems to be doing is getting on his back.
I don't agree with his comments, but he's a gypsy, they're brought up completely different to the rest of us and that's what they believe in. They're very religious and think women should be at home with the kids cooking and cleaning. That doesn't mean it's right, but that's how it is in his community.
Also, he's getting stick for saying Jessica Ennis slaps up well in a dress? I'm sure most blokes have said ten times worse down the pub.

The other Tyson is somewhat of a beloved figure figure these days despite being a convicted rapist.

Fury is a bit of bellend but at least he has a bit about him unlike so many of our leading sportsmen. Usual storm in a teacup about his comments/opinions

To me, sexism and homophobia are a bit more serious than being "a bit of a bellend"
I'm glad he's been stripped of his title.

He hasn't been stripped of a title because of the comments though, it's because he is fighting Klitscho again before fighting the mandatory challenger.

Apathy at his comments are bizarre - he's clearly a bigoted arsehole and a complete waste of oxygen. Unfortunately he has the right to say what he wants, and we all do. Easiest thing is for the media companies to not give him the inches/air time but he's a good story.

Should he be on the SPOTY list? Yes. Should he be allowed to think and say what he likes (unless a criminal offence)? Yes. Is he a complete and utter cockwomble who should be widely ignored and derided, and will be the second Klitschko destroys him in the rematch? Yes.

One thing - I don't like the title of the thread as he's clearly both and they're not mutually exclusive.

There's a difference between expecting enlightenment and expecting him to just be a decent human being.
I expect the latter from most people regardless of their career.

Only because we're omnimedia victims. Expecting acceptable behaviours only creates dull media poodles out of people that don't believe what they're saying.

Fury's only qualification for talking about anything is that he hits people hard. As someone said further up, when he talks about society he's no more interesting or relevant than the bloke in the pub. Just tune out. Or hit him.

Rutherford's made himself look a bit of a tool. But he won't lose much sleep about that. Wish I could jump into a sandpit as well as him.

I couldn't careless. The idiot is obviously so far out there with his views I'd like him paraded as a 'village idiot' rather than banned or hushed up. Used as an example of what stupid looks like. Same with Trump, no way should he be banned.

i realise the 21st century struggles with these views and prefer to deal with them by not allowing them, it's a shame as I don't think its a healthy way to deal with opinions like Fury/Trumps.

It's more the hypocrisy of a lot of the writers and supposed boxing fans. They seem to ignore what a lot of previous sportsman have said for example. Holt from the mail for example has listed Ali Holyfield and Tyson as his heroes while slating Fury. Can't pick and choose who you want to go for in my opinion

He is ginger???????

He could be applauded for his stance were it not for the fact that;

a) he was happy to complete and win medals in India (which have in turn boosted his career) where homosexuality is banned...

b) has made such a song and dance about the whole thing handily around the time voting started.

The one positive I can see of Fury winning will it will bring the topic to a wider audience and also further illustrate what a cockwomble Fury is to a wider group, plus it will have a certain morbid comedic value to see how the BBC deal with the whole thing.

Frankly anything to stop Hamilton winning it again!

Beware false flags. The true redhead is a pale creature, albeit not truly terrified of the sun like the ginger. The ginger burns if exposed to the merest hint of sunlight, as its life giving energy is abhorrent to their kind.

And beware. They have agents everywhere.
