It could be argued that under the new media system employed by STFC no one covers the town anymore.

This is a sad day indeed. Sam will be a real loss.

The Total venture was always a massive gamble and, frankly, was never going to last.

Morshead has been an asset for our club news. I hope he gets a good gig elsewhere.

Sad times and I hope that Sam gets something sorted soon, probably been the best local reporting we have had in recent times both in terms of content but also his grasp of English!

With the plummeting standards at the Adver and complete lack of quality at Flic, the market was very crowded but the one quality product is ceasing - a real shame.

Hopefully we will see Sam on here now more as a bog standard fan, now that he is not involved in the club any sort of official capacity he can start dropping down to everyone else's level and giving his own view on things going on, and start calling posters things that he was unable to do while he had his professional hat on (he did manage to brand Chang the ITK poster, even if indirectly).  He is one of us now, including being a contributor to our Kasim Player sponsorship club...

This is not good news in many respects, SM being a fan of the Town as well as a journo is a little unusual and always got the feeling he balanced the information nicely.

I still get the Adver but not holding out for any change in relations between it and the Town so I guess it will be down to rumour and those with "inside knowledge" for us to get any salient facts in the forseeable future.

Surely the point being missed here - by some distance - is that Total Sport is a local news outlet.  It isn't their job to be reporting on national sports stories.  There are thousands of others covering that angle already.  I would no more want to read a Liverpool FC story on Total Sport than I would want to buy my next TV from the local newsagent.

Don't you know the football world revolves around Liverpool FC.
