Title: How many grounds
Post by: land_of_bo on Friday, August 26, 2005, 12:21:14
I was just sat bored at my desk and I wondered how many grounds I'd been to watching the mighty town. Then I wondered if I had been to anyones new and old ground...so I went through the league tables and counted up.

For the record its 44, out of those these are the old stadia I've visited which have since disappeared, but I haven't been to the replacement!

Man City, Sunderland, Derby, Wigan, Southampton, Stoke, Hull, Leicester and Oxford

I reckon the shittest ground I visited was Cambridge Utd years aog, when they had sand in the corners for their long ball hoofing, and the best Man Utd when we lost 4-2 in the league cup - 8000 town fans and we were so fooking loud!

What about everyone else, anyone done all the grounds? Best and worst?

About 30, been to man city, swansea old and oxford old and new, and dorchester to see Bournemouth V STFC. Worst: chesterfield is a dump, portsmouth is worse than the CG, but the manor or the mem in bristol are horrible

cant be arsed to count but must be between 30-40. best i've been to is stadium of light or old trafford, worst is probably manor ground or kassam stadium, and that includes non-league grounds!

Kassam has to be the worst of the stadiums recently built.  Poor effort, very poor effort.

Somewhere around 60.  I counted a couple of years ago and was at the 54 mark I think, so must be up there now.

Is that a lie?

Surely you're too young to have seen Town play at 70 grounds.

In no particular order - some of the names escape me, it's late!:

1).  Loftus Road (QPR)
2).  Griffin Park (Brentford)
3).  Bournemouth's Ground
4).  Roots Hall? (Southend) (LDV)
5).  Ashton Gate (Bristol City)
6).  Layer Road? (Colchester)
7).  Franchise Ground
8).  Nene Park (Rushden & Diamonds)
9).  Brighton & Cunts Albion's Ground
10).  Kenilworth Road (Luton)
11).  Wycombe's Ground
12).  Broadfield Stadium (Crawley Town) (Friendly)

Bloody hell, that's crap.  Might be a couple of others which spring to mind later.  There I said it, never been to an Oxf*rd stadium, or even an Oxf*rd game!

Added to that, I've been to Nurnburg's stadium, Vicarage Road and Selhurst Park, but not following the mighty Town.  Going to Elland Road vs. Ipswich in a couple of weeks too.

Why was Franchise particularly special master Dave?

Fuck me Sonic how many weddings do you go to in a year?  And since when do weddings take priority over football?

Bournemouth has a nice tidy away end, although it's a cunt of a place to get out of and we'll probably lose, again.

Like I say, the BM away 'end' has changed

MKD was ace because I was very very drunk and Reeves for King injured himself when booting the seat in front of him when Sniff missed from the spot
