Title: Recording From Iplayer etc.
Post by: Saxondale on Wednesday, June 10, 2015, 14:17:26
Any ideas wise ones?  My youngest is on Steve Lamaqs Junior good day bad day on Friday and the eldest was on a couple of weeks ago.  Thought it might be nice to try to record them for posterity.

My knowledge of recording from the radio begins and ends with holding a tape recorder up to the wireless to record the chart show in 1982.

Clearly I am 85.  Any advice from you young uns?

Have you thought about holing a tape player up to the speakers of your computer?

(I may take the piss but I equally have absolutely no idea about such matters!)

If it is actually on BBC Iplayer, there is now a download app which allows you to save any iplayer broadcast within the app for as long as you want.  Not sure if there is an equivalent for other Players.

To see what I mean, go to play any BBC Iplayer programme and you'll see the option to "download" in the bottom right hand corner and then it will take you through the downloading of the software needed

Give me the links and the times they're on and I'll record it to an MP3 for you. Easier than explaining how to do it ;)

It was easier to record only the relevant bit via Audacity.

Audacity is by far the easiest way, I tried out Total Recorder too but with very mixed results.
