Heard someone on 606 last night saying how difficult it will be to get out of league 1 as every match they play the other team will think of it as their cup final.

Fuck me come on lad, you're only blackpool.

Seeing as there's a real chance they could come down with Fulham and Wigan, who both have pretty unreasonable budgets, firstly that statement is even dafter, and secondly, we could really do with getting out of this league this year.

Blackpool are fucked, with any luck they'll be in League Two after next season.

Wall are more likely than Fulham....oh joy.

Blackpool away for a season opener in August would be OK.

They are a sign post to the possible issues clubs can face with owners.  Recently about 500 of their fans went to watch AFC Blackpool instead of Blackpool in protest.  The Oyston's are raking it in.  Not only did the club use the Prem money to pay dad a cool £11m, they've also paid Oyston owned companies £27m in loans (interest free) and also the family purchased land from the club before selling it back at a huge increase (one deal was something like £100k purchased and then sold back for £6m).  All totally legal as they are majority shareholders.  The rise the Prem was a combination of ring fenced extra cash from the Russian guys and a load of unexpected luck.  Oyston et al are now taking every penny of the parachute payments (think they have the lowest wage bill in the league).

Oh and Oyston Jnr is alleged to have sent a message to a fan he was in a war of word with stating he'd take them down to the Conference.

Blackpool 2015 = Bournemouth 2025. Can't wait.

Hate Blackpool be good to see them back in the lower leagues, same goes for Bournemouth.

Looks that way. I just find Yeovil mildly annoying, in fact given the general potential norverness of Div 3 next season, it's a bit of a shame to lose them.  Must be the away day with the most interesting set of different A roads to get there.

True, but I'd rather have seen the back of Crawley, than Yeovil this season.

I disagree about Bournemouth, as much as i'd love to dislike them.
Eddie Howe is a great manager, plus eight of their regular 11 this season were part of their League One promotion team.

It's feasible that Ritchie with Bournemouth and Douglas & Pritchard with Brentford could well be gracing the Premier League next season.

Am I making this up or is there a website with all the football league tables and the possible highest and lowest positions each team could finish? I think it might have been on a betting site, was trying to find it earlier and had no luck.

I think it was on football365 stats but they've changed the site and it doesn't look like it's there anymore...

http://www.football-league.co.uk/news/article/2015/football-league-statement-rotherham-united-2397427.aspx

Rotherham may be facing points deduction for feilding an ineligible player in a game they won so that will put them well and truly back in the relegation mix if it happens.

Couldn't happen to a nice manager.

New manager might just give them a boost, a draw away at Fulham wasn't a bad start.

Point deduction that could actually mean something.... thus suspect that the Football League will bottle it - although it is a small club....

The FA will bottle it, too much of a threat of a drawn out legal challenge.

If Plymuff had made it through the PO's they'd have been well and truly fucked.

Not a lot there on the new ground front....be ace for R4E and Horlock mind, be able to get to 14 or so away games wth minimal travel.

Thanks for the kind thoughts Reg   :) it will indeed be an interesting year to be a NW based town fan... although with my track record for witnessing woeful Town performances, not sure how many games I will aim to attend.

I know it's early, but Bristol City, Preston & Franchise struggling in the Championship so far, all three sides in the bottom 5 at present.

I wonder how we'd have coped had we won at Wembley!?

Not very well I would imagine but it would be nice to have a season up there again.

Here in Bedminster, the Bristol City feel good factor has pretty much gone. Drunks are no longer stumbling home chanting the 'No, No, No' Flint song (which was a regular occurrence until about 3-4 weeks ago).

At the back end of last season, I said we'd be better off not going up, because of the difficulty of rebuilding and it being  a bit easier at this level.

How difficult that can be has been shown by our recent travails....getting stuffed every week, as can be seen from the responses on here, doesn't go down well, and we're only talking 3 defeats in 4.

The Championship is wildly skewed by the number of clubs with parachute money, and then clubs with historic large fan bases.

I still maintain that our focus for this season has to be get to 52 points...
