Title: Android Features...
Post by: DarloSTFC84 on Monday, February 23, 2015, 21:18:54
Ok so I'm now a newbie to Android having taken the plunge from iOS..

What apps can people recommend?...

Also, I understand you can get emulators for retro gaming.... anyone have any tips on which one to go for?...

Lastly... does Flash Player come in-built with these things, or do you have to download it?

You can use Flash, although I'm not sure why you'd want to. Most (decent) sites are transitioning to HTML5 anyway.

I genuinely have no idea what that sentence means! Haha...

I meant for like STFC Player or something..

Flash isn't supported much on android browsers now is it? Firefox used to support as older version but I've not used that for donkey's.

What kind of apps are you looking for, games?

Anything really... useful bit's and pieces, fun, games etc..

I've got the usual: Facebook, Vine, Twitter, IG, BBC News, Sky Sports, NBA & NFL apps etc..

I have flashscores app which is good for scores etc plus has a decent live standings section. Useful on a Saturday while at the game.
Also use high5it which gives me alerts for goals etc in town games which is very useful when at home/busy

Flashscores is great and the quickest goal updates I've seen. Handy for accumulators too as it's really easy to 'watch' games and get a notification when something happens in that game (goal, red card, HT/FT etc.).

If you have not upgraded the POS to lolipop then wait until Android 5.1 is released in a month or so to fix the bug they created in pushimng out lilipop to early (maybe they took sounding from Microsoft)

i had to uninstall lollipop as it was terrible. hated it. 5.1 better be a massive upgrade over 5.0 otherwise i'll be with 4.4.2 forever more

I don't get the Lollipop hate. Loved it on my Nexus 4, now waiting for it to arrive on the Xperia Z3.

lollipop is great, other than messing up the speed of my WiFi enabling.

I like the features I just don't like that my tablet doesn't work with it. Simple really.

Seems different things happen on different phones, I got the Samsung S5, it is slow, eats battery quicker a lot quicker than previous, silent has been removed, contacts keep crashing, notifications on lock screen has changed, just a few I've found and I know a colleague has HTC and is also complaining about the update
