18. 4 silver guineas each (they shared the food equally)

No, thats wrong.

As there are 8 loaves, and three men, think of it in thirds of a loaf. If the food is split equally, each man ends up with 8 thirds of a loaf. Man 1 brought 9 thirds to the party, man 2 brought 15 and man 3 none.

So man 1 ends up 1 third down, man 2, 7 thirds down and man 3 8 thirds up. So he should give 1 guinea to man 1 and 7 guineas to man 2.

Bowl, Fetch, Stream, Ship, Steal.

Originally I was thinking these may be baseball terms (certainly steal) but sure that's nonsense.

Those all refer to moving something from one place to another.

Could be - if the first one was a curve(d) bowl, or is that too tenuous ?

my first thought was also baseball but then tried to think a bit leftfield - flow instead of stream, run instead of fetch/puppy and got nowhere

still think its a cricket/sport related......

4D seems to be lacking confidence atm....he works hard in training though, and I'm sure there will be more chances for him to get things right, as long as he keeps showing a good attitude and doesn't allow off forum issues to distract his focus.
