Fair play. The website is looking a lot more professional these days too. Still on the fence personally, but watching with interest in what happens next.

I didn't see them and was not approached by anybody to join, but they may not have been in the area I entered the stadium!!  Fair play for putting themselves about anyway.

Hi Ronnie,

We had a stall at the corner or the Arkells and Town End, we did plan to come around the ground flyering and pointing people in our direction, but we had so many people signing up we didn't have the man power in the end. We'll repeat it and move around the ground at a future game.

You can still join online too Truststfc.com/join

That answers the fact I never saw anybody, I am in the DRS and entered across the car park!!

Don was a true gent, at one point it started raining and he held an umbrella over the person looking after the forms so they didn't get wet.

I don't know how realistic this is, but I'd say it's when membership gets up to around 2,000 that things will really start getting interesting.  You'll have 20% to 25% of the fanbase covered then and, at that point, you can start to argue that you genuinely represent a significant slice of the people who turn up.

Really impressed with the recent marketing effort.  We've not seen anything like this before.  THe last time membership spiked (Diamandis/Wills problems) it was all web-based and word of mouth.  Co-operation from the Club a really good sign as well.

Title: Re: Trust mass membership drive update
Post by: RWB Robin on Monday, August 11, 2014, 23:25:07
The message about the DRS has been taken on board, and we will be looking to find a spot on that side next time....and there will be a next time!

Ardiles,  I agree we need to look at around 2000 members, and I hope with the plans that are being developed, all fans will see that we have a worthwhile, ongoing programme on behalf of supporters and the club.  Our relationship with the club is excellent, though we have made it clear that we look to be in 'critical solidarity' with the Board.

Title: Re: Trust mass membership drive update
Post by: ronnie21 on Tuesday, August 12, 2014, 07:12:49
I am glad you have noted the DRS and the supporters in there, please don't try to put a message out on the tannoy - it does not work and has not worked for the three games it has been open.  Perhaps the Trust could get the club to sort it out, definitely will invalidate the safety certificate - if they ever had one!!!

Title: Re: Trust mass membership drive update
Post by: Power to people on Tuesday, August 12, 2014, 11:53:06
With no safety certificate can't the council shut the ground - I pressume that is just as there is no emergency PA system for emergencies  or is there another reason we may not have a certificate ?

I believe it was mentioned that the emergency PA system that is used for steward notices and gives the emergency evacuation details etc does not work either now in the DR, hence mention of safety certificate

Title: Re: Trust mass membership drive update
Post by: 4D on Wednesday, August 13, 2014, 12:52:59
The PA system does work in the DRS, trouble is it has a 'spinal tap' volume system that goes to eleven. It's so loud that the speaker sounds like the singer from one of those metal bands, you know the ones, sounds like the microphone is being eaten.
If you live in Wroughton you can probably hear what is being said, quite clearly.

Why does it have to stand for something?

Fair play on the membership drive, I nearly started to criticise before I read the article and I'm glad I didn't. My moan was going to be along the lines of, "What's the point when the club is finally being run properly?" Looks like they have plans to work with the club and if it comes off - brilliant.

I like the sound of the Trust chairman, and I like the sound of his vision. Will probably sign up later today.

In the last programme, there was a bit on the fact that they have been given approval by the club to look into getting a roof on Stratton Bank...without costing the club any money, as they will look into funding it via grants/donations/sponsorship.

Been meaning to sign up for a while now. These articles were a kick up the backside so I've just done it. Hopefully they'll encourage others too. Seems like the Trust are putting in a lot of graft so a quid seems more than worth it.

Will join this week. They are now doing what I have thought a trust should be doing for a long time. I have been critical in the past but now can see a clear vision so credit where credit is due. One suggestion if it's ok though would be maybe to have had the child prices under the new ticket initiative on the 20.000 leaflets they are dropping off

Unfortunately, these leaflets were printed just before the ticket announcement last week. It's taken a few days to sort out the leaflets and distribute them to the schools.

As Paul says you have to pay extra for the badge, but we've had a promotion for sign ups on matchday, that if you sign up as a member, that you can buy a Trust badge for an extra £1 (normally £3) (subject to availability).

We hope to have a small sign-up team out by the shop prior to the Colchester game.

Will the Trust be looking to support the club in trying to get fans back through the turnstiles? Could the Trust or Club for example have individuals in Town Centre talking to people as they go past informing them of the 6 match/8 match ticket initiatives and trying to promote these to people personally?

They still don't seem to have been publicised as much as they could of as I have spoken to 2 people that used to be Season Ticket holders who hadn't heard about the deals and think they sound really good so are now potentially looking at purchasing them.

Just had an email from son's school offering free tickets to stfc v fleetwood and free trust membership, says the trust got a sponsor to cover ticket costs, nice to see this being done to a) boost attendances at hwat would probably be a low gate and b) encourage more kids to the games

Credit where it is due well done guys.

Title: Re: Trust mass membership drive update
Post by: JayBox325 on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, 17:20:41
Yeah, I've seen some tweets about this free tickets for schools initiative, too. It's good for the club because not only do we get a higher gate, the kids are going to hopefully buy stuff or generally become a fan AND we get some of the ticket cost too because a sponsor has bought all of them.

Great deal all around. Brilliant work from the sponsor spending their own money on kids getting into the CG.

In terms of keeping membership levels up, it seems a nightmare to be manually collecting £1 off people each year.  Within my wifes business we have low amounts that we have to collect on a regular basis, and we use gocardless.com, it allows for monthly or annual DD and it only costs 1% so this would work out at a 1p cost.  Just thought it may help

Title: Re: Trust mass membership drive update
Post by: Red Frog on Tuesday, November 18, 2014, 18:01:33
Finally got round to joining the Trust today. Not sure whether there are any plans to engage overseas supporters, but it would at least be good to have an out-of-town member on the Trust board to represent the interests of those who can't attend on a regular basis, and perhaps help the club make some money out of us.

For starters, can anyone raise why we seem to have the worst version of Player in the whole league? That's money I've stopped paying in recent years, some of which benefits the club.

Player has very little to do with the club - the rights to it are sold en-masse by the Football League, and, far as I'm aware, clubs are then essentially gouged by Player for more cash for the various levels of support. I can only imagine we have the minimal level (which I am not arguing with, Power's trying to keep us on an even keel after all), but that is no excuse for the general shiteness of the service.

Just a basic question to those whom it may concern. I have attempted to join the Trust with the possibility, also, of arranging a donation. I successfully registered yet my membership payment was denied on the basis that I was unwilling to provide details of my mobile phone number (for various reasons). I really shouldn't have to provide such details, when I am trying to benefit our club. An e-mail addy, yes, but I do draw a line. Any enlightenment ?

Just a basic question to those whom it may concern. I have attempted to join the Trust with the possibility, also, of arranging a donation. I successfully registered yet my membership payment was denied on the basis that I was unwilling to provide details of my mobile phone number (for various reasons). I really shouldn't have to provide such details, when I am trying to benefit our club. An e-mail addy, yes, but I do draw a line. Any enlightenment ?
