Title: 2013/14: Young Player of the Year
Post by: Costanza on Friday, April 4, 2014, 10:44:59
I've gone for 21 and under.

Quite competitive this season.

Louis has definitely improved and could be first choice next season.

Louis for me.

Would've been Barthram but he hasn't really played enough. He's always impressed me though.

Louis, easy. Miles might have won it if he'd been given more of a chance.

King Louis.

I was tempted by Mass, but he's got knackered towards the end of the season and the performances haven't been there.

Can understand Louis getting people's votes in Costanza's 'Most Improved category', but Pritchard has been better over the season.

Yes. He's recognised as one of the best but people love the homegrown youngster don't they.

As do I! Just given the choice it's no contest in my opinion.

Having said that given he's the one who'll be here next year it's been heartening to see him improve steadily as the season's gone on, bodes well.

Bar a few free kicks, and a few runs, most of the time he has run into the oppositions midfield and gave the ball away... a lot.

Pritchard IMO has been overrated.

All about opinions, personally think we've generally looked more dangerous with him in the side, and he's been more productive than L Thompson (as that's the direct comparison we're talking about).

5 goals and 8 assists from 30-odd games speaks to a bit more than a few free kicks and a few runs.

...but...Pritchard also isnt our player.

I cant speak for everyone else but it would feel a bit wrong having our player of the year not being our player!

does it really matter?
Whoever it is will have done it in a town shirt so not important imo

Generally our player of the season leaves that summer anyway. So voting for a player that already isn't 'ours' makes perfect sense!

Indeed it does, I hadn't looked at it that way.

That's because they can't handle the intensity of our love, we scare them off like a clumsy stalker

tough one for me as I haven't seen L.Thompson play much and most of the times I saw Pritchard, he would infuriate me. That said, I think he's scored and created goals all season and therefore gets my vote.

I'm going to stick my head out and say Gladwin will win this next season.

I was tempted by Pritch, but decided against it, and not because he's 'really' a spurs player (that doesn't matter, he's played more than 10 games this season). Yes he's talented, but he's got a shit attitude that needs to be sorted. You cannot fault younger Thompson for that at all.

Him and Nath's parents can be extremely, extremely proud for raising two terrific lads as well as great players.

Bang on - really pleased with the way both of them have come on this season and plenty of more well-known footballers could do with using either/or as a role model

Unless it was Connor himself who voted... Or Barry Scott's chubby fingers.

I shouldn't have included him really.

It's what happens when you put two young players close together. Obviously. :sherlock:

9 points from the 3 games he's been absent would suggest otherwise....

Know what you mean and it was discussed in another thread. Tiny sample size though, and although we won didn't think we looked that dangerous for much of the Sheffield game.

My point was that he offers some more creativity and something 'extra' than our other players from the performances I've seen this season, and think of those in this poll he's been comfortably the best player.

Would, however be disappointed if he started tomorrow as those that have been part of winning efforts deserve to keep their place.

Don't think those opinions have to be mutually exclusive.

If he had maintained his early season form, Mass would have won this hands down.

I was then torn between Pritch and Louis.

Pritch regularly displays exquisite skill and vision. He then goes and fucks it up by being a bit greedy and/ or gobby.

Loius hasn't had the game time that Pritch or Mass have but, I love to watch him play. I know there are occasions when his youthful exuberence can catch the wrong type of attention form the ref but, he's ours. We found him. We developed him and we MUST keep him and his sibling. Nathan and Louis could be the nucleus of a good squad. Louis therfore got my vote.

Louis Thompson, without a shadow of a doubt.

I like Nathan, I think he's a fantastic player..I think Louis has even more potential.
