Title: Re: Looking for a new windows 7 laptop Post by: 4D on Saturday, November 2, 2013, 21:15:10 A Christmas present :)
sorry! It's for a 10 year old, so iTunes, PowerPoint stuff etc Title: Re: Looking for a new windows 7 laptop Post by: Nemo on Saturday, November 2, 2013, 21:24:42 You could probably get away with a Chromebook (circa 200 quid) for a young kid, doesn't have PowerPoint but comes with various Google imitations installed which are pretty much identical unless you use advanced features. The battery also lasts ages.

Title: Re: Looking for a new windows 7 laptop Post by: Batch on Sunday, November 3, 2013, 09:13:13 Only that in the thread title you said Windows 7!
I think Windows 8 was a bit poop originally for laptops/desktops. They tried to impose their more touch screen friendly 'metro' interface too much, it was a bit far removed from traditional Windows for most users. But if I understand it correctly Windows 8.1 has brought back the start menu and things are no longer so bad. Not used Windows 8 myself so can't really offer any actual opinion. Loads of decent laptops around the £350 or less mark. Have a look an Amazon, Dabs and eBuyer.
