Re Wolves as Champions - very few "big sides" relegated to this level just bounce straight back up. They normally come down, think they're going to walk it, look like they might, have a wobble, finish around the top of the chasing pack for the play-offs in the first season, then go up in the 2nd season when they've worked out what the division's about. I'm thinking of Leeds, Forest, Southampton, Wendies, all of whom I think have followed this pattern in recent years. Can see Wolves doing the same.

Much to everyone's glee, Leeds were not a second season success...I think it was fourth attempt in the end!

Think Sheff utd could have a few problems getting back up.

I believe so, off the top of my head. We did it with a lot less money though, which makes Wolves' fall all the more impressive.

I wanted to get Oldham in the top six but went with Peterborough instead.

Us to finish lower mid-table, 15th - 18th, flirting with relegation but pulling away in the final weeks.

But not as impressive as the Cobblers who went from Div 4 to Div 1 in successive seasons - and followed that by going from Div 1 to Div 4 in successive seasons.

Think this could be Franchise year.

Brentford and Sheff Utd will be there abouts.

The team to shock could be Crewe,they have some real quality in the side.

As for going down its anyone from about a dozen i reckon.

Fair play to the people who have included in their 'one to shock in the play offs - or as one poster did choose Wolves and have them struggle.

How can any of the teams 'shock' and not finish in the PO's at least, hardly a shock finishing higher mid table.

Yep thats how I read it too, much like Tranmere did last season and they didn't finish in the play offs, that said I put my "shock team" in my play off prediction.

Tranmere were a flash in the pan last season, the shockers were Yeovil.

Are people actually basing these predictions on details of who the teams have signed, how they have done in pre-seaon etc or just picking out the big teams to do well.

For instance where is all this conviction that Preston are going to do great coming from?

They are a big club and these sorts always come good eventually

Interesting reading this seeing what peoples predictions were and how they are shaping up.

The major one being that Shitty are in fact pretty shitty otherwise most predictions have at least 3 or 4 in the right area for promotion/relegation etc at the moment.

Cross out the top line, other than that a good shout

Yeah I made a bit of a mess with the Bristol City prediction there!

And Walsall aside (thought the loss of 4 or 5 of their players would hinder them more, fair play they have done very well) it wasn't too bad!

I guess Rotherham and Orient are the ones to shock this season?
