Title: Free sky sports
Post by: dave_bambers_right_sock on Thursday, July 19, 2012, 13:45:22
Don't know if anyone has posted this yet but this weekend Sky and Virgin customers are getting a free weekend pass on sky sports.
Think it includes F1 channel as well.

Only for people who subscribe to Sky but not Sky Sports though? I have a Sky box and a viewing card (freesat deal) alas, no Sky Sports it appears.

Had a letter from Sky today to say As from the 1st September the Sky sports channels are going up another £1 at least per month and the family pack up another £2.50 pm . I've called them to cancel everything including our broadband and telephone along with the whole viewing package. Been paying around £112pm but now looking to go to Virgin or somebody else.

That's just about finished it for me. Free this and half price that for new customers but seems like fuck all for the likes of me who have been with them for years. I'm waiting for them to call back but guess the only way I'll get a better deal is if I cancel then Ill be in a better position to haggle. Tossers >:(

I called them and got money off. They are not so quick to agree nowadays though

They were with me. 5 Minutes and I had 25% off for 6 months provided I signed up another year.

And I didn't even haggle, so maybe there was a bigger % there.

Did you get right to the point of cancelling or just ask them outright for a better deal? Don't want all the hassle of changing to be honest but it pisses me off to be paying more than new comers.

I didn't realise that Sky were putting their prices up by a frankly astounding £1 a month.

As I quite enjoy their product and don't think that £1 a month is going to break the bank, I think I'll probably save the time and energy to moan about it and just carry on and take the financial hit.
