Title: smartphone virus protection Post by: Arriba on Saturday, July 14, 2012, 11:40:57 Is it needed?
Title: Re: smartphone virus protection Post by: Chubbs on Saturday, July 14, 2012, 11:47:27 depends what OS you are running?
When i had a WinMo 3.5 i had a mobile version of nod32 but only as a precaution. I've had an Iphone for a couple years and never bothered putting AV on it. If its available and free then there is no harm in having it on. Better to try to be safe than sorry I guess

Title: Re: smartphone virus protection Post by: Simon Pieman on Saturday, July 21, 2012, 23:54:54 No it's not necessary, it'll just slow your phone down. Don't install dodgy apps and you'll have nothing to worry about. Even then an app is pretty restricted as to what it can do, it won't be able to corrupt the phone's system for example.
