No can't get Sky Atlantic on Virgin.
Apparently they've not been able to reach an agreement on a deal.
A bit annoying as there seem to be a few decent things on that channel.

If Virgin got all the channels that Sky offer then Everyone would ditch Sky(myself included). That means Sky will always cling to some to keep their subscribers on board.

Has anyone had a decent loyalty discount out of Sky recently?
I'm gonna call them this week as i'm not getting anything off at the moment and it's been over a year since my last call to them.

Presumably I could get Game of Thrones by other means...

I only have broadband, 6 basic packages + sports. Phone is with BT not Sky,

Getting through to cancellation is the key, depending on targets they may offer you a deal if you pretend to cancel. They may actually cancel you though.

Last month when I rang up to cancel sports I got %??* off Sky sports for 6 months provided I signed up to Sky for another year. I asked to cancel because I said cost during the summer was too high for the amount I watch it (true) Not sure if this was even a particularly good deal, a mate claims he got a better deal.

* Thought it was 50%, but seems just under. Works out as 20% of entire tv bill or 42.75% off sky sports??!

So in 6 months time I'll ring up and cancel sports again - if they let me cancel without discount so be it (that's the risk!).

It's a weird situation now...where some of the best shows on TV are being watched by one man and his dog.  Mad Men, for example (switched from BBC4 to Sky Atlantic for the 5th series), is getting a fraction of the ratings over here that it used to and isn't being talked about in the same way.  It's very sad.

It's what sky do though right? Remember when everyone could watch football, cricket and F1?

Saying that sky have helped me cut down how much tv I watch and the Internet still provides me with all the live sporting events I need so not that bothered.
