The closest I got today was fourteenth in the phone queue, didn't have enough time to hold so I'll try again tomorrow.
How many are they allocating to us, would imagine as many as we want ?

We ordered ours on Sat morning.

Isn't the capacity something like 25k, so I presume we will get plenty to satisfy demand.

No idea how many we will take, especially if we win on Saturday

I may just go to ticket office a bit earlier on Saturday and get a few, wanted to get the party tickets at the same time but just read they aren't out until  tomorrow anyway.

Its going to be busy queueing for tickets this week with Bradford & Port Vale in high demand.

I'm planning to go to Bradford and expect to spend a good chunk of Weds in the phone queue when they go on general sale (I'm assuming that its only 1 per ST until then) cos I dont want to risk leaving it until after the weekend just in case we dont get enough to go around.

Anyone any idea if Jon Pollard is still with Bradford? Thought he did a decent job here during the Hoddle period.

Afternoon Lads & Lasses,

Bradford fan here!

First of all, congratulations on gaining promotion.

Regarding pubs you'll probably get chucked in to the Bradford Arms which is the "Away Supporters" pub. It's not the best if I'm honest. Has a beer garden at the back and also has Sky Sports.

Town Centre is about 10/15minutes walk depending on how fast you walk.

To be honest it's not the best Town Centres around, we've got a council who would rather spend £24m on a pond in the middle of Town than help out with the local housing/nightlife.
Lloyds & Weatherspoons nearby and also the Ginger Goose.

Anymore information you need give me a shout!

Our Football team is stuck in League 2.
Our Rugby team is going bust.
We've got a huge pond which cost a lot of money but is worthless.
Oh...And George Galloway has just been elected.

Title: Re: bradford
Post by: Midland Road on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, 16:01:51
Well...The maximum allocation is all a bit confusing at the moment!
The away fans got moved to the 2 end blokes of the Midland Road stand last year think it was now, which roughly holds around 800...I think (don't quote me on that)
But you've been given 3 possibly 4 blocks.
I know season ticket holders in Block E of the Midland Road stand have been told to move!
We had a bit of "bovver" against Oxford & Rov'Rum last year in this stand so they've extended the segragation quite a bit.

The league's minimum requirement for a ground like Bradford is 2000. If we sell out and don't get given at least that many it'll be very disappointing.

Would love it if we did but can't see us shifting anywhere near 2,000. Distance will put alot off. We didn't even sell the Pikey's out afterall.

I'm sure we'll be given as many as we want. I spoke to a guy in the ticket office (not Jock) who reckoned we had roughly 1,000 initially but could request another 1,000 and so on up to 4,000.

Title: Re: bradford

No you don't need to have an SN postcode. If you haven't ordered tickets for a while then you might not be on their database but you should not have any trouble getting them sent up to Manchester.

Parking isn't too bad.
On Midland Road itself there is 2 car parks which will charge you £3.
Just watch where you park around the stadium. We've seen for "big" games the parking police are out in force issuing tickets.

Cheltenham Saturday - Be very surprised if we get anything from this game.
We're off down on the train early for quite a few of these  :pint:

Cheltenham, not Bardford.
Its about 2 and a half miles from station to ground; quite a walk.
Loads of decent pubs in town.
Near to the ground, last couple of matches I've been in the Sudeley Arms on Prestbury Road for a final pre-KO drink, about 1/4 mile away on walk from town and full of STFC fans when we've played there.

There was a queue spilling outside the ticket office post-match yesterday so I'm hopeful/optimistic the Bradford numbers to be around the 1000 mark by now.

Missed the game yesterday as I was in Leeds/Bradford.
If anybody wants a good curry before/after the game I recommend Sweet Centre 110 - 114 Lumb Lane, BD8 7RS.
I went there last night and had a very good authentic curry at a very reasonable price and only 5 minutes walk from the ground but be aware that you have to bring your own booze.
Have a good time all those who are going but do not have a vindaloo unless you are very brave!!

For anyone thinking of going to this from the London area you can get megaplusbus to Bradford from St Pancras for £9.50 It takes about an hour longer than the train but it's a damn sight cheaper!

Would have to get a train back though.. not sure how many cheap advance tickets are kicking around this late in the day.

First of all I'll echo the sentiments of the Bradford fan earlier, congrats on becoming Champions! Looking forward to the final game of the season - hoping you lot bring a few and make it a good atmosphere.

Secondly, pubs. The Bradford Arms is a stones throw from the ground and is usually the away fans' pub of choice due to convenience. There are a few bars on Centenary Square if any of you are pulling into the Bradford Interchange train station. But I'd also recommend a few pubs for the ale drinkers - The Fighting Cock on Preston St is well known in the area as an ale drinkers mecca. Always a friendly atmosphere - will be extra vibrant due to the final day of the season. It would however require a taxi to the ground but theres a taxi rank just up the road and I'm sure City fans in there will help out. And I'll also recommend the pie and peas! A little closer to the ground is The New Beehive and the Corn Dolly which are good old fashioned ale pubs with friendly home crowds.

Thirdly, a few things to expect. With it being the final home game of the season there will be a minute's silence prior to the game in memory of those that lost their lives in the Bradford Fire disaster in 1985. The reason I mention this is because the tannoy system is a little sketchy in the Midland Road stand so you might not hear the announcement. Over recent years, the two teams have come out to You'll Never Walk Alone so feel free to get your scarves out and make it as colourful as possible as it's always a highly emotional part of the day.

On a more embarrassing note, over recent seasons there has been an issue with some of the, lets say less-educated members of the Valley Parade home crowd that have felt the need to invade the pitch and entice the away fans at the final game of the season. The club have been working to prevent this year on year, but if it does happen, don't lower yourselves to it. I'm sure you won't but its just a warning none the less.

Lastly, enjoy the day! The majority of the City fans will be very congratulatory and will want to share a drink and a laugh with you. We'll be celebrating the end of the season for much different reasons but a good day to be had either way.

At this second meeting the police commander reported that all available policing resources would be employed around the Bradford City game against Swindon Town. At a meeting of the Safety Advisory Group (SAG) that morning she had advised that there were insufficient police resources available to cover any incident that may arise from the Play Off Final at BPA. When asked why this was not conveyed at the Monday meeting the meeting was informed that intelligence around the BCFC game had changed. The SAG were unwilling to allow the Play Off Final to go ahead without cover available from the police. and here is reason why

Bit of a long shot this: Couldn't get tickets for front row, does anyone have two that they want to swap so they can sit further back, I have block f row q seats 168, 169. One is an under 12 ticket (the reason for swapping in case we all stand) so would need to sort it out in ground.
