Quite a few people make the same prediction every week, call it superstition, tradition or whatever. I've never predicted anything other than a win - usually 2-0. NMH always 'has a bad feeling' on the other hand and predicts a 2-1 defeat.

A lot of praise for Benson, true pro. Paolo's going to take his time thinking about the team for Monday - not planning big changes, but there will be some.

If PDC wasn't the manager you'd call him a mong for moaning!

- First half, wasn't happy with ALL the players
- Praises Benson for being 32 but running for 95 minutes and getting up every time having been fouled.
- Extremely unhappy about 4/5 who ruined it
- Younger players should be like Benson, they shouldn't not run, when older players like Benson is running all the time
- For newer players, he understands because they don't know his way, but for many of the players, it's not acceptable
- Fortunately the other 7 players behaved well and responsibly
- Thought we would be lucky to draw at half time
- Told the players at half time that Rooney was only 1 of the people he wanted to change. He wanted to change 7.
- Went into the second half better due to this
- Paolo still angry about behaviour. Should finish 4-5 nil. Brain was somewhere else.
- Everyone has to grow up quick
- Constant praise of Benson. He wanted to come off, but Paolo said we need him to keep playing.
- Benson is best signing for Swindon. Absolutely. Crucial for us. He brings excellent quality.
- Many things wrong with todays game, few things right.
- Not sure whether he is missing Ritchie or Caddis. Team still has shape, discipline. Play differently, still create chances

- Unacceptable performance by some
- Praised Benson
- 5/6 came out for 2nd half to show the players they are (especially the back line)
- Risser was better in 2nd half
- Some relaxed too much (Maybe because they scored a goal in the last game)
- No commitment and no desire
- 5/6 player poor
- Could only change 3 when he wanted to change 7
- Some of his players need to grow up. They need to look at Benson and try to emulate.
- Benson has been the best signing. Brings excellent quality. Without him things were difficult
- Wont necessarily make changes for next game. Will review game and go through things with players tomorrow.
- Little bit closer to promotion
- Caddis & Ritchie are crucial for the team but he wouldn't say that they necessarily missed them. Without them they played slightly differently. They still made chances but didnt necessarily put them away. But they have shape, discipline and a system.

All eyes now on how Shrewsbury and Oxford get on tonight.  I'm hoping the Shrews fail to win, simply (and selfishly) because it means there's a better chance I will get to see us promoted away at Aldershot (I think).  And results have been kind(ish) to Oxford this afternoon with Crewe and Gills both getting draws.  But if they fail to beat the Cobblers this evening, it's going to be very tight for them as well.  Cheltenham winning has done them no favours either.

Just got back to hotel.

Pretty poor game but a great win. They had the better of the first half and only some good defending kept it level. Once we got the goal we defended brilliantly and never looked in too much danger until they hit the post right at the end.

No real stand out performances but the defence were brilliant, Flint looked like he was back to his pre-injury best, he won everything in the air. Devera is very good defensively but we miss Caddis so much. Risser had a good game, broke up the play well and used the ball fairly well. De Vita was quiet first half but looked a lot better second half.

Benson was as effective as usual and he never stops working. Neither Connel or Murray looked particually good.

Great support again and Morecambe is an absolute dive, it is such a depressing place.

I agree about pdc being ott in public but i actually think it goes  both ways tbh.Us as fans pick up what we deem to be negative though.For example after rovers last week and a few other poorer gamès he has heaped praise on the players calling them lions etc.

I honestly cannot believe this, from where we were it looked like around 40% of the crowd were Town - and much more noisy!

Anyway first game of the season (know its poor but thats what I get for living up here), nothing much to add to what has been said except...

Risser - I really cannot decide about him, I suspect that he breaks things up a lot and does disruptive work you don't see, but the game just seemed to pass him by at times - it was like a child was playing with adults in the ball seemed to go back and forth with him chasing it.

Rooney - I can understand why he was subbed, just wasn't happening. Holmes did more in his first 30 secs on pitch when he had a run at their right back.

De-Vita - not at races in first half, came much more into it in second. Really deserves some credit this season as he has played both right - has he played many/any games as a striker.

Benson - looks class and love the intelligence of his play, especially the delicate little lay off he did with head. Scored, celebrated with various super hero's, got booked and then spent much of last 10 minutes flat on his face - looks absolutely shattered at final whistle - thought they may have to carry him off!

I thought Murry looked better than Connel, but possibly just because he was quick and caused their back 4 some trouble!

Anyway not a bad day out and back to pub in lancaster afterwards!

Played upfront for Huddersfield at home and Bristol City away and scored in bot games.

Good player,and will be better in league 1 i reckon,he has looked class against the better teams we have played this season.

Having just returned home (went to Sunderland to see some family after the game and also watched a drab 0-0 Sunderland v Spurs game as well) thoughts about Friday are that it's another 3 points, another clean sheet, another Benson (oh jesus christ) goal and another huuuuuuuge step towards promotion/championship!

Great effort by the 800+ there, we had everything from Darth Vader to Superwoman in fancy dress...quality weekend and here's hoping for another 3 points tomorrow C.O.Y.R!!!
