Red and white wigs and face paint ? No I'm not 10.

I'll be taking my tickets, my mobile, wallet and a raging hangover from 4 days in Tenerife on a stag do.

Why?

I didn't think we had enough Wembley threads  ;)

I will probably not wear any colours, I think when you get to a certain age it should be the norm.

Ralphy, I wore red face paint for the Sunderland play off game (at the age of 20)  :( . It kind of "ran" because it was warm, I looked like I a beetroot on legs.

Why the fuck any grown adult would want one of those foam hands or a red/white wig is beyond me.

Im going to be adventurous and wear my red and white scarf in a Paolo style.

I remember being sat in the DRS when they had left a card thing on each seat that doubled as a "clacker" and a photo opportunity (they were red on one side and white on the other - with some writing on). I remember they asked everyone to hold up the card that matched their seat colour so it would spell out "Swindon". I think it went a bit wrong when some people couldn't follow those difficult instructions

* I found mine in the garage recently - I might take it to Wembley  :girlgiggle:

last time my son bought a flag outside of Wembley but the stewards wouldn't let him in with the pole. I have since checked and on the Wembley OS it says flag poles are allowed up to a metre in length.

Bringing Mrs Ardiles.  It's our wedding anniversary on Sunday, which we have decided to spend in the romantic atmosphere of Wembley Stadium with 29,000 other like minded souls.

Actually, it's her first game in approx 7 years.  Her record at the moment is Played 3 Won 3...all from the Andy King era.  She's grown used to the ritual indoctrination I now foist upon our two little ones, so maybe it's now rubbing off.  We'll see on Sunday.

yes, looked at the board earlier today...the extra 'trains' are the 08:45 coach/train and then the 09:26 train...I am veering towards the 09:26 now, only gets in about 15 mins later and you dont have to worry about it being chocka at swindon, and not being able to get on train...

This is as enjoyable as a Wembley day out could ever be.  Given that it's 'only' the JPT, I'm looking forward to this but without the crippling nerves I've had before other trips.  A few nerves, sure enough, but nothing that would ruin the day.

My worst such experience was the 1993 Play Off Final which, up until the final whistle, was one of the most horrific experiences of my life.  Could any fan enjoy a game like that, really?  I will never forget the experience of brushing by teeth that morning...when, half way through, the nerves got the better of me and I threw up my breakfast in to the sink.

That was the match where I headed the wrong way (because of beer) and ended up on my todd amongst about 6,000 Leicester fans :). I had to turn around and head back through them, against the flow! I think they use to "fence" the fans back to different tube stations then, but I may be wrong  ???

Heading up to London tomorrow morning to make a weekend of it.  Managed to get tickets for Harlequins v Bath at the Twickenham Stoop tomorrow then staying at the Wembley Hilton on Saturday night.  Nice breakfast and a swim on Sunday morning then head out to Wembley to dish out the Italian flags to our other "warriors".

This weekend may well be summed up by "loadsa pints!".

It would be create to get some jumping/scarf spinning action going on behind the goal, to the tune of 'we are the red and white army'....a little bit continental styley

Our group (around 15 of us) ordered a vuvuzela each, which were delivered this morning, going to be brilliant on the train going down, then at the Green Man. One of the lads bought a massive drum especially for the game too, should add to the atmosphere a bit!!

Come on you reds.

use one cannister at the green man, then one in the ground!

You'd think they might be able to make an exception for a game like this one.  There are going to be over 40,000 empty seats on Sunday.

Only that would require a modicum of common sense, not something associated with the FA.

You might be able to hide the flag but will struggle to hide a drum as they are also banned.

I'm only in the £46 seats, we get slightly crusty cheese and cucumber sandwiches. Its the £60 ones where the good prawn is.

'course you might accidentally mess with Paolo's "family" if you attack the £60 seats, and the Thames is a bit close..

I know but Wembley rules state that " unlicensed Musical instruments, Drums and Trumpets are prohibited " the Sheffield lads in the Band must be Licenced. Your right about the flag size, its 250cm around eight foot but no bigger.

To be honest not sure how a drum is going to make things better anyway, we don't use them at home to start and join in with songs so can't see where it's going to fit in. Someone aimlessly banging a drum is just going to drown out the singing.

on the other hand, may keep the happy clappers in time on the 'paolos red and white army' or the 'red army' charts....history as shown, unassisted the Town end always speed up and ruin the songs...

In the County Ground I would agree with the no drums sentiment, but in a half empty Wembley you will probably need drums/horns etc to generate a bit of atmosphere in between the songs.

So long as no bugger near me has one!

- Flags more than 250cm in size at their widest or longest section will not be allowed and flagpoles greater than 1m in length will not allowed

Bastards.
Surly covering the empty seats with flags would be great.

How did you manage to get away without your lad wanting a flag?  My mother-in-law took my boys into the Brunel on Thursday and came home with 2 flags and 2 horns.  Apparently it was £8 for 1 flag or 2 for £10.  Seemed a bit daft getting a flag and horn for my youngest as he's not going, but her money!

I can see Josh and the flag being a recipe for disaster and pity the people sitting in front or behind us!
