Title: Laptop deals?
Post by: 4D on Wednesday, December 14, 2011, 09:33:33
I'm after a new laptop and wondered if any of you had spotted some good deals to be had?

Looking for minimum 4gb processor, 350gb hd,  a deal which includes Ms office home edition.
Less than £400 all in.   :sherlock:

Pointers appreciated.

Merry Xmas!

I take it you mean 4gb ram?

£389 inc delivery.

Dunno if it comes with office trial or not but most do. Easy enough to pick up office for not much anyway 2nd hand or use a previous key.

Core i3 is a good mobile processor, 5gb ram and 500gb HD.

My only advice would be to steer clear of Lenovo as a brand - we have had a bit of a nightmare with one recently - Curry's swapped it for an Acer which has been great so far.

The one JJ has pointed out looks good to me!

I brought a Acer laptop 3 and 1/2 years ago with 4GB ram and 320 HD. It's still going strong today. I did update from vista to 7 and it's working wonders. Vista = poo!!

The only thing i've had to change is the fan and that was easy enough to do myself.

Go for it.. treat yourself!

If I had to buy a PC it would be a Lenovo Thinkpad, nothing comes close to them.

Core i5, 4Gb ram, 500Gb hd and Win 7 Pro, for £380 (after the Lenovo £100 cash back offer):

(Never bought from Insight but others have the same laptop and the cash back appears genuine)

Whilst on the subject, im thinking of getting the missus one for christmas. For what she does on it (very simple excel, skype, flash games for the kids, web browsing) id almost be tempted by a notebook.  Any pont in that oh wse ones?  If not, can I get a decent enough laptop for under £300?

The falling prices of laptops has pretty much killed the notebook market. Here's a Dell for under £300 (using the £10 off coupon STAR10 and the HP £75 cash back), can't believe the quality will be any worse than a notebook;

It's always worth looking around for the cash back deals - HP, Lenovo, Toshiba normally have some running.

I'm also in the market for a new laptop after Christmas.

There's plenty around with Core i5 for less than £500.

I can sell you an all in one touch screen PC for £500?

Not a laptop but still a bargain. Used but no cosmetic damage at all, still has all accessories and the box. Will be restored to factory condition.

£200 cheaper than refurbished ones online.

Edit: I sold the PC originally mentioned but still have the one above for sale.
