Title: Wiping a hard drive
Post by: 4D on Monday, September 26, 2011, 07:31:35
I am looking to pass my old pc on and I want to clear all my data and applications, so the pc is like it was when I bought it (apart from being old). Is there a "restore / reset" procedure for this or do I have to uninstall each app? Help appreciated!

If you're concerned about your data, you should use a program that will do a 7 pass erase.

DBan

http://www.dban.org/

Then reinstall Windows if you have the original disk

Or File Shredder if you want to get rid of individual files
