How do I find the players on Twitter?  I've tried searching but can't seem to find any?  Have they had all their accounts detailed following the Rose debacle?

Do none of the people you follow also follow them?

Yeah I think Simon Ferry got in to trouble for some of his 'Irvine Welsh' style tweets. I found them ammusing but they weren't the type of comments the backroom people at the club with of been too impressed with.
Phil Smith is a top a bloke, but I get the feeling he doesn't really socialise with the rest of the team. Lucas and Callum Kennedy are on there as well.

He got abuse at Norwich in what was a very early game for him (I think he was about 17).  Some of our fans were a disgrace that day.

I know someone who was arrested twice that day, and released after 15 minutes both times! Those sort of things only happened pre Euro 2000.

After that I think we were a bit too lenient on young players for a while. Especially young Alan Young, who was young, and small, and rubbish.

Losing Commingues was a massive blow. Rediculous he went to a team and never played. Thats one of the things I hate most about modern football. Clubs hoarding squad players.

Actually I find players twitter quite interesting at times.

Douglas seems to be answering a fair few questions. For instance it seems that the club have an option on Douglas for next year, and that (most) players have wage reduction on relegation clause.

I agree, it also seems he has the ability to type like a normal person, rather than  using "txt spk" like the majority of the other players.

I like Twitter but it's a pretty pointless piece of modern technology.

The relationship between twitter and football has become massively studied recently... This is probably down to the fact that many journalists can no longer get genuine quotes from their subjects so when Rio Ferdinand, Michael Owen or any footballer types something then it's magnified.

Fans use it as a tool to suck or abuse footballers... Footballers are used to it. If they choose to reply then so be it.

Not sure why clubs let players have a Twitter account TBH, little good can come out it when it allows players/fans to interact (insult) each other.

Reading various tweets it seems the player-fan bond has strangely improved of late. Douglas in particular has realised that if you engage with the fans you get a positive response.

Yeah, as far as I understand it, it is simply a most popular keyword match across regions. In other words, the things people are tweeting about most at the moment.

People use the # tag to add context across multiple people posting on the same subject. e.g If people use a common hash tag #SwindonTownFc for STFC , then it is possible to search for all tweets on swindon town FC by searching for #SwindonTownFc. Moreover if lots of people are tweeting about #SwindonTownFC it may trend. Though # tags are just convention and hold no more significance than any other word tweeted.

To be fair, I don't think anybody would disagree with his assessment of that tosser of an agent. Knight says he walks round PDCs office, talking as loud as he can into his mobile, name dropping. What a cliché. There's probably nobody on the other end!

I find this Twitter thing really difficult to follow. What I got from reading was that Knight was up for pre-season and felt he did well in the training sessions at Swindon. Knight then felt he was badly advised, the agent acted badly and Swindon got rid of Knight. Knight has then sacked the agent.

Is that right?

While I had no desire to see Knight at the club, he clearly thinks he's been screwed over by Agent Darren. Would love to know the ins and outs on that one, the trial did all end rather quickly for Knight.

It seems he was being pushed by a couple of agents to STFC. From what he's tweeted, he didn't really want to be here and di Canio didn't really want him here, hence why he was shown the door a bit sharpish.

Surely di Canio wouldn't have let him train if he didn't want him in the first place. I really don't think he'd be a push over with agents.

He has acted like a complete tw*t since he left though - clearly not a PdC type of person.

No-one seeing this level of professionalism is going to offer him a contract.

Perhaps, maybe, he really was just too unfit?

I noticed a glimpse of him in training from one of the videos, Callum Kennedy interview I think. He did look rather rotund.
