No CyberRobins v Oxford matchday thread? I hope the New King of Tonga makes that one so we have a chance at winning...

Back in the real world, Austin will score a hatrick to commemorate his one year anniversary and we'll win 3-1

It probably depends on how solid we are at the back, as you always feel that we are likely to score

He wont be available for the FA Cup game on Friday though no matter what as hes cup tied from Supermarine, so hopefully Lucas will be fit enough for the bench or we will have wing it and have no sub keeper.

Can't believe it - fair play Town.  I'm not turning the radio back on!  I've been out for most of the afternoon, but during travel between my house and the town centre managed to listen to both Rochdale goals.

Something made me not turn the radio on when I entered the house, I've faffed around for 15 minutes and now we are winning.  I will continue to be updated through TEF rather than jinx hearing another Rochdale goal!

Third time we've scored 3 goals in an away game this season and we've failed to win any of them!  Not sure exactly what that says, other than we can score goals, but our defence is shite!  Disappointing to have twice led, but again we fail to hang on.  It's becoming increasingly irritating now tbh.

The majority of League 1 is pretty poor defensively this season.  Peterborough and Franchise both had 4 put past them again today and there were quite a few other teams conceding 3.

Wilson being interviewed on the radio talking about naiviety with the defending and 'not shutting up shop' after the third game.  Heard it all before and slightly bored with it.  Anyone else think that Peter Shirtliff is doing a pretty poor job as defensive coach this season.  Maybe he needs to be replaced?

Defensively we are an absolute laughing stock, a complete bag of shite, and frankly if (when) we lose Charlie in Jan, we become relegation candidates if we keep leaking so many goals because we're not gonna get goals to bail us out every week.

Massive massive problems.

Yes, No and No in that order.

Yes I am bored with the "naivety" talk.

No I am not sure Shirtliff is doing a bad job and no I'm not sure he should be sacked. The problem for me is the personnel. As a trio Cuthbert, Morrison and LJF aren't good enough. Cuthbert was good enough last year, but hasn't been this year. Lack of form or lack of Greer?

The latter.

Partially. Mostly even.

Last season we only had two scorers and Ward banging them in. This year we have added a bit of attacking flair but at the expense of being solid.

I guess what I am saying is the problems aren't all down to Greer leaving, but also the 'balance' of the team isn't the same.

Also wonder if team spirit is the same, heard a couple of players had handbags at training the other day (I bet that happens most weeks though)

Whatever anyone thinks about it, week after week the conversations on here return to the fact that Greer hasn't been adequately replaced.   Unfortunately should we achieve nothing this season, which is looking increasingly likely, the majority of people will point to that as the main reason.  Whatever the circumstances behind his departure, the management have to take some responsibility for not replacing him.  IMO Caddis and Ferry haven't particularly added anything to the team and that money would have been better spent on a decent centre back.

Board have to take some responsibility for not even offering him a new contract and actually accepting the bid.

Good point for me.....its a long season and i think a draw away anyware is good news.
Yes we were 3-2 up..........but we came back from 2-1 also.
Still think we have a great chance of the play offs.........and a good cup run is still a possibility.

Onwards and upwards..

As for Greer its history..........i dont miss greedy bastards who forget that Swindon Town gave him a chance when he was rotting in Doncaster reserves.

In reflection I guess an away draw is always good result. Isn't the formula for promotion 3 points at home and 1 away? That averages out at 2 points at game and that comes to 92. Minus 15 for our shit start and you still get 77. Playoff material?  :)

Now to win every home game....

Must be so frustrating for the forward lads, but the club are getting exactly what they deserve for thinking JFL and Morrison are both good enough now to be promotion winning CBs.

This league is shit this year and there for the taking, but we cant defend to save our fucking lives and that will not change until we bring in an experienced, or just a good, CB. Boring? yes. Correct? yes.

The Greer situation certainly highlights that Fitton's approach of every player we sign being an investment, who's value will increase more than the wages we pay out, can't always work. Sometimes you need to sink money in return for a footballer.

He wants to run the club as a business, so success will be slow. This develop a player and sell him on for double/triple approach will frustrate fans, but will secure the club's finances. For example, the inevitable sale of Charlie in jan/end of season will cover a season's debt. It's just how it is nowadays.  :(

There was a lot more to the reasoning behind Greer leaving and from what I have heard it was inevitable that he would go, he had pissed a lot of players and staff off, Cuthbert being one of them.

Instead of harking on about the reasons Greer went we should be harking on about a lack of adequate replacement.

IMO the right decision was made with regards to him going if what I have heard is true, but the fact that the money recieved wasn't invested back into getting a decent replacement is a major failure in regards to the board/manager/club.

Got back half hour ago, living in Manchester this was my first proper look at the team this season, bar the rovers game on the tv. Pretty disappointed to be honest. We seemed to be content with lumping it forward for large periods of the first and second half. When we finally got it down and played football we looked a decent side.

The penalty - LJF goes down to stop the cross and the ball strikes his hand. The ref seemed to gesture it was a penalty because his hand was in the air - I'm pretty sure its a natural thing when you go to slide along the ground that your arm/hand stays in the air, not tucked in to your body?! The lino gave it anyway. It wasn't deliberate, but its one we would have been disappointed with if we didn't get the penalty.

Our defending - the second and third goals were extremely poor. Morrison won a couple headers today but not enough. Their guy backed in and was stronger. I don't think he judges the flight of the ball well, as seen for the second goal and LJF wasn't strong enough and let their guy turn easy.

Charlie didn't have his greatest game I don't think yet scored a well taken goal, Prutton made Rose's third goal and took some pressure off us with some strong runs.

This point away from home is a decent result if we go to Notts County and win, especially seeing we should have won today. I'd even take a draw on Tuesday for the sake of a decent result on Friday. Plenty to work on in the meantime.

Why should we when he has one year left? ummm thats exactly the time you discuss contracts so they arent in danger of running out? You leave it too late and other teams show an interest and its too late. Would Paynter be here now if we'd sat down with him in July instead of waiting till October?

Greer was our captain, off the back of a good season (team and individually) he has one year left to run AND had interest in him from another club. How is that not the right time to sit down with him and discuss a contract with him? That is exactly the time to do it and we didnt.

You put a new contract infront of him in July and he signs it great, none of this happens and we dont get into November having not replaced him. He doesnt sign, right we know he doesnt want to be here and we sell him but at least we fucking tried.

Where as we just gave up and sold our captain because we were too stubborn to open contract talks with him. I said it then and I'll say it now - thats a fucking ridiculous policy and has possible cost us the services of two players.

Loyalty works both ways - we showed him how loyal we were by refusing to discuss a new contract.

...oh and I'll hark on about whatever the fuck I like.

Smith's distribution from goal kicks wasn't great - a couple of occasions it went straight out for a throw. But to be honest he didn't have that much to do - only had to make a couple of saves but didn't look too convincing with one of them. Thats not to say he had a bad game though, your keeper is only as strong as the 4/10 in front of him.

Maybe we knew we couldnt match the sort of contract Brighton were offering?

Lets not be naive about this, Greer and his agent would have been well aware of what was on offer from Brighton well before he made the move. Unless we matched their terms he wouldnt have signed anyway, and if we did smash our wage structure to keep him you'd have a queue of other players banging on the managers door wanting similar pay rises.

Last season our defence was better than it has been this season, but it was still the weakest part of the team so changes were needed anyway. We havent found the right formula yet but if we do we're as good as anybody in this league.

As i keep saying if you have attacking defenders....Rose,Sheehan,JFL etc you will always concede goals.....i like Morrison a lot....i know others are unsure...fair enough.

Still think it could be a good season for us.

A fair few - 300 or so?! Not sure as we were spread over 3/4 of the length of the pitch. A decent turn out for a northern side, even if there are only a few of them this season.

Atmosphere was poor, "the dale" only had 2000 and only sang when they went 2-1 up and 3-3. Town weren't too bad, some lads tried to get things going - especially when we got back to 2-2 and then ahead at 3-2, but tempted fate by singing 2-1 up and you fucked it up.

Just got back. Have to say a draw was probably fair. Wasn't much between the 2 sides. I thought that perhaps if we stepped up an extra geer we would have won the game without much hassle. The goals we conceded were dissapointing. It was handball for the first but wasn't really anyones fault. We were just trying to block the ball into the box and sadly it came off a hand. The 2nd was poor. I don't know if LJF slipped or what but he let their man through and it was on a plate for him from there. 3rd goal was a real shame. We showed great fight to get ahead when 2-1 down but we lost concentration for their 3rd. I don't know where Rose went but he certainly wasn't where he should have been. We allowed them to get a ball in the box and anything can happen from there.

Deffo not a bad performance though. Same old story really. We scored 2 good goals and got a bit of luck with the rebound for the first but we gift the oppostion goals every week. If we cut it out we'll be winning games very often. The football is getting a lot better from us. Oh and Danny Ward was there apparently. Or at least a bloke that looked like him.

I think we need to remember that while Andrew Fitton is a very experienced and astute business man, as a football club chairman he is a rookie. He is on a steep learning curve and it may well be that he now thinks that selling Greer was a big mistake (or maybe he doesn't) and if a similar situation arose in the future he may handle it completely differently. However good you are as a business man in the 'real world', I would imagine that nothing can prepare you for the world of football. In that respect, Mr Fitton I would suggest is still finding his feet. He's only going to get better though and, considering he's not done a particularly shabby job so far, this is yet another reason to remain upbeat about the club's prospects. It may be that this is one of those seasons where thing do not quite go our way, although I'm not even close to giving up on this season.

This is not like past seasons under past regimes though. The current management is light years ahead of anything we've had in the past and my faith in them at this point is totally unwavering.

We're going to be fine. Trust me 8)

just got back, thought we were ok today, nothing special though.
interesting to see danny ward sat with our fans when bolton were also playing at home, clearly just a coming to watch though.
i thought the game itself was a cracker, end to end stuff although we created the clearer chances.
none of our goals were anything special mind, neither were theirs. i thought the only preventable one from our point of view was their third (which from where i was sat looked like a morrison own goal but we shall see a bit later on) as i think either ljf was trying to play their bloke offside or was caught out of position as he had acres of space on the edge of our box to cross it in......
prutton looked very good today with dougie playing a little better. ritchie was quiet appart from when our fans were singing wardy chances, you could tell he upped his game!
charlie was quality as ever although had very little to work with until the last 15 mins or so. should have done better with numerous headers. timms was good again and thought he deserved to stay on the pitch for the 90 mins. dossi was ok, couple of good touches but nothing to shout about. rose is getting better and better every game and his freekick was always going in! ball looked good when he came on and created a chance almost instantly. caddis did nothing special though..... re smithy i dont think he could have done much about any of the goals today but as someone said earlier his distribution needs to improve.
interesting to see scott on the bench, obviously we dont rate jesionkowski very highly??!!
all in all it was an average performance but entertaining to watch

I see we're back on the Greer subject again.  :emo:

We weren't that bad and on reflection 3-3 was a good result. If you'd actually gone to the game you would realise we're not that shit. We're a decent CB away from being play-off contenders again. It's all well and good sat behind your keyboard making generalisations about players when you haven't actually seen them play or the mistakes they've supposedly made.

As for the game, Morrision looked off his game and missed a fair few headers by jumping under the ball. Cuthbert got turned inside out by Adams all afternoon and Charlie didn't look sharp after he took a knock on the ankle in the first half.

I'm blaming the defeat solely on the dicks who started the "2-1 and you fucked it" chant. Bunch of stupid cunts.

On a positive note, Steve got a fucking AWESOME parking space.

Because the offer Greer had was more than we were prepared to offer, so we took the £250k.

the offer he shouldnt have received until we'd agreed a fee?

Yeah but its all still relevant isnt it. If we'd sorted the issues I pointed out in July then they wouldnt still be outstanding.

Its not rocket science - but I didnt go today so I'll sit in the corner and be happy with a 3-3 draw at Rochdale with the same obvious reoccurring problems we've had for 4 months.

The rate we are going we might even finish 10th this season :)

It's relevant but it's hardly constructive. What you really want to be doing is looking ahead and thinking how can we rectify the aspects of our team which are causing these performances. Getting Greer back is a solution but not an option. We've burnt that bridge so we need to forget about it.

It's a bit like an old boy in my day speech. Things move on and turning the clock back is not possible unless you invent a DeLorean time machine.

It's also like people moaning about Dossevi, Pericard being crap etc. We're scroing a lot of goals at the moment and our attacking game has really come on. A month or so back we needed a consistent centre forward to solve our woes. Turns out we don't. Wilson is starting to find a system and the personnel to fit it, I'm sure January will throw some interesting possibilities into the mix.

Just got back as well.

We need a talker at the back. Disappointed to draw that one after getting back in the game. Defence found their centre forward a handfull once again we struggled against a big lad up front but I am sure in time our young defence will get better. Not sure about Cuthbery at right back to be honest.

Prutton looks better game by game and was the player to get us back in it. Town MOM by a mile today.

Rose free kick worth the journey and loved the celebrations running over to the Town fans. Sadly once again we let it slip with Sheehan lapse of concentration.

But hey ho not out of the race and anyone can beat anyone in this league.

Wilson Out - Fuck off and let him manage the team as we will get there.

Great vocal support from the Town fans today but my 7 year old now knows that Cunt and Fuck are football terrace words that Mum's should not be told about.

3rd goal wasn't Sheenhan's fault...he was playing LM and was in position. It was Rose that went missing and LJF who failed to get over and cover in time. That left JD having to cover but because it was left late he had no time to stop the cross going in.

RE: Greer

Whether you're of the pessimistic or optimistic persuasion, it didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that we needed to replace Greer adequately (regardless of the events surrounding his departure).

Danny Wilson, for his sins, decided to keep a little faith with his current squad members and it unfortunately hasn't paid off.

...It's a case of "over to you Swindon Town F.C." (and please sort it out soon) because the toing-and-froing on this subject is dull.

Buggeration. Couldn't go to go so was listening to game while doing some early Christmas shopping and having made something of a spectacle of myself in ToysRUs when we took the lead with Rose's free kick, was gutted to concede just after I'd got thru the till.

Clearly we should NEVER allow a ginger to start a matchday thread, whether they're hurriedly crowned retrospectively or not. That's our real problem this season - we haven't adequately replaced KoT

Just finished my chips!  First of the day, didn't fancy the Rochdale ones.  Did though have a choice between watering holes called 'The Church' and 'The Cemetery Hotel'.  Not classy, but ok.

Haven't read through the whole thread, like the highlights later, I might stop when it gets to 3-2 to pretend the outcome was different.  Only read views from the Duke, DRS and few others.

Definitely had Prutton for motm, two great runs into the box, pity we couldn't capitalise on those.  Worried about Ball coming on, but thought he did well, ran at the Rochdale defence and probably should have scored with shot across the box at 2-1 down.   Rose and free-kicks, how does he do it? On the money every time.   In short, loads of chances, Charlie could have made it 4-3 with a header past the post in about 90+4.

But oh our defending.  I guess Danny knows like the rest of us that you can't concede this number of goals every game and be hope to be challenging for promotion.     Not sure what the answer is though.  thought Cuthbert did ok on the right, but Rose gets/or allows himself to get pulled into the centre a lot, leaving us exposed on the left - see their third goal.

Thought we did ok today, look a real threat going forward. But unless we sort out our defence we aren't going anywhere this season, such a shame because we look really dangerous and have a lot of goals in us.

Few things I noticed

LJF - liability, I'm sorry I really want to like him but i can't, he is far too error prone and he exerts zero confidence as well, but he does do some things well, but he needs to cut out the mistakes, we can't afford it.

Morrison - Seems to struggle with most aspects of defending which aren't aerial. And he wasn't that good in the air today...

Cuthbert - not a right back, but the best CB we have

Rose - Top quality! Heavily involved in a lot of our build-up, so good going forward....what a stunning free-kick as well! Sheehan must be wondering how he's ever going to get to take a free-kick again, never mind get a game!

Ritchie - Great wee player, narrow pitch didn't suit though.

Dougie - God

Prutton - Great 2nd half, driving force in midfield. Could be a big player for us this season.

Timlin - Didn't put a foot wrong, nice to see him get a goal. Unlucky to be taken off, but we needed more dynamicity going forward

Charlie - God

Dossevi - struggled at times, but I do like him, he has a lot to offer I feel. We needed a Pericard today I think because they were physical at the back

Whoever started the "2-1 and you fucked it up" please don't do it again, fuckin hate that song, we always concede after it as well

Town fans in good voice tho, they're support was woeful!

I agree that Charlie didn't have a great game today. He didn't put himself into tackles and about as much as he usually does and his build-up play was not as tidy as it can be.

But then again maybe we have just come to have such high expectations for him, cos at the end of the day he scored a great goal and got us back into the game.

Today just shows, that even when Charlie ain't on his game and gettin the required service he still has the quality and predatory instincts to get us back into games.

Charlie took his goal really well, but apart from that looked a little off the pace.

Prutton was imperious! How Flash can even liken The Great Man to Owain fucking Tudor Fucking Jones is close to blasphemy!

We all know the reason (And I'm sure DW does too) but it is our defence that's costing us points. We are scoring goals from everywhere but lack the ability to keep it tight at the back. If this can be rectified we'll fly.

Excellent parking space today, literally right outside the ground! two delicious meat and potato pies consumed and a couple of cheap pints quenched in the snug at the Church Inn. 3 points would've made it perfect.

500 plus miles round trip was worth it though just for Rosie's free kick!

I like Lecs too, but  for yesterday his CV will read. First goal, fell on his arse and handballed it. 2nd Goal, fell on his arse and gave their stirker a free shot. 3rd goal deflected into the path of Jones/Morrison to head in the equaliser, not his greatest series of events. Coupled with the slip against ColU that led to Smith almost fumbling in,  someone should make sure he's actually got studs in his boots.

What was Rose like defensively yesterday? He's been defensively appalling every time I've seen him and not worth the positives he brings going forwards given that Sheehan is a great attacking full back as well, but can actually defend. If he can sort that out, fine, but otherwise, free kicks or not, we should have Sheehan back in there.

Once we can get people fit and we can have Amankwaah, Cuthbert, Frampton and Sheehan at the back, we'll be fine. Morrison, Lescinel, Rose and Caddis pushing those four.

That's a bit harsh. 1st goal he was trying to block the cross, ball hit his hand - shit happens. 2nd goal he slipped. 3rd goal he takes none of the blame, he did his job covering the left back who was on a walkabout and didn't quite get there in time to block the cross. Who was on their man that scored? Looked like Morrison. Why the fuck did he try to head it clear rather than put his boot through it?

I was looking at our stats this season compared to last. After the same number of games (17 league, 5 cup) the goal differences are the same at +5, the difference is last season it was F27 A22 and this season F39 A34. The real damage this season has been the last 6 league games in which we've conceded 17 compared to 6 in the same games last season.

Makes me think part of the problem is that we've been pushing forward a lot more, resulting in us scoring more but leaving more gaps at the back and conceding more. Fuck only knows what's happened over the last 6 games though.

Greer or another experienced centre back may improve things a bit but it won't solve the real problem - our defence going in to twat mode and forgetting how to do their job. Could just be confidence, which needs a bit of luck and a run of good performances to put right. Or for Wilson and the coaches to start doing their job.

In my opinion Frampton is not the answer.

Consistency of personnel is key to the success of our team this year I feel.

Both LJF and Morrison have the ability to be a good centre back pairing.

They will get better with game time and a few harsh words from DW and Co.

Its more the style of play....how about the midfielders and strikers do more attacking....and let the defence do just that...defend,the third goal yesterday really proved the fact about our defence always pushing forward...all out of position miles upfield.

Catch 22 though. If we'd sat back yesterday we'd have let one in. We always do, and Wilson/the players would have been slaughtered. We were trying to put the game out of reach and it did look at the time if that was the right way to go, as Rochdale had been on the ropes for 20 minutes previous, Unfortunately for us we got caught with a sucker punch. Talking to some Dale fans in the pub after, they said they thought we'd be near the top as we are shit hot going forward, but not so good at the back which we already know. Yesterday I thought might tell me where will end up, but I'm still none the wiser, still need a CB and a Striker which is obvious I know.

I think we do. Pericard is injured a lot. Still not entirely convinced by Dossevi, and Ball doesn't look as though he'll score many, Charlie's one game from a suspension and if he get's injured we'll have problems. Besides a lot of our goals are coming from other areas, not from whoever partners Charlie.

Agreed. However isn't Rose the only one pushing forward at the moment? Cuthbert seems to be playing defensively.

The problem seems to lie in away games predominately, surely this can be rectified with the right coaching, as the ability is there.

Fair enough, we all see it differently. I hope Rose shores things up defensively, because his delivery and free kicks, to state the blindingly obvious, are exceptional. But Sheehan (in my opinion) is a safe bet going forward and at the back - comfortable on the ball, overlaps, just more solid.

As for Amakwaah, this years version hasn't been up to it - but this years version also hasn't been fit. We miss his threat down the right going forward - he's big enough to handle himself as well.

Someone said it earlier in the thread - good individual defenders - not a cohesive unit. A good young CB needs a leader with him. We've 3 youngsters, and no combination of them has been good enough. Fingers crossed on Frampton getting back.

And for 3 minutes it was brilliant, the reason why we trudge up and down the country to watch football.

Perfectly true Sutton.  Worth the trip for all that.

Nice beer in the Cemetery too, then?

Took my daughter to the game...cracking day apart from 1) getting caught in first class on the train and 2) too many Man Utd "fans" travelling home to the Home Counties...

Great to meet Sutton Red on the way to the ground....we tried to walk there but got lost so ended up in what looked like Basra High street and getting a cab..
Nice pint at the Church Inn..

For anyone who didnt go you missed a great performance by Prutton....great hair!! Ritchie...and Caddis.

It may have been said several times before but we have a strong squad and each performance each player is starting to show glimpses of quality....all odd signings by DW...a dodgy penalty decision cost us badly..

Had one more beer in there after before heading back to Manchester. Was so glad we got that cab guy. It looked about a mile to the ground on Google, but in reality was probably nearer 2 ,2 and a half, probably would have finished me off..

suspect everyone who meets Suttonred will say the same.   Me too!
Shame on anyone who dishes out abuse in his direction (hope not tempting fate).

Not boring Greer talk again? Our big problem at the moment is our lack of options at right back. Cuthbert is wasted out there. Caddis clearly isnt Wilson's type of right back, which does beg questions of why we bought him? Phil Smith is adequate, but an on form Dave Lukas will always keep more clean sheets, and he is a real leader. We need the old Dave Lukas back.

Rochdale is a real alien environment. Mountains! People were friendly though. Got cabs there and back to the ground, good call. Would have been a long hilly walk.

Another brilliant Rose free kick. We are getting better. Fridays game at Crawley is critical. A bad performance could de-rail our season again.

It was a 25 minute walk. Hardly a trek. Even some old fella managed to half walk/jog back.

Everyone saying about LJF being at fault for the 2nd goal - I thought Morrison misjudged the ball coming from the back and jumped underneath it (again - Colchester?). He was out of position and got caught. The lad took it well too.

As things stand, think you'd have to say Crawley are probably favourites for this.

As no-one cares about the FA Cup anymore...going out shouldn't make any difference to the league campaign.

When it comes to the FA Cup Swindon fans are mugs! They say things like, 'I dont care about the FA Cup' and then we get so excited we take 6000 to Fulham on 3rd round day.

I care about the cup. Especially when we could end up going out to fucking Crawley. Not that I think we will.

Highlights are up now on the OS. The penalty looked harsh. I don't think LJF could've moved his hand away.

Noticed right at the end that Cuthbert was hobbling down the tunnel so I guess he must've pulled something. That'll be interesting for Tuesday.

Nice one Sutton Red....A hell of a yomp with a ten year old who has already walked across Manchester with her dad warning her against the perils of becoming a Manc glory hunter like her classmates!!!!

Got to say the guys at the Dale were really kind when my girl fell over over cut herself outside the Church,,,programme seller sent us to First Aid and St Johns were really good.

That was a nice pub and wish I stayed longer!!!

Did she slip on the leaves? I nearly went over a couple of times myself walking to and from the pub. The Cemetery was really good also, and another lad I know went to the Baum said that was excellent, seems to be a proliferation of good pubs there.

@leefer forgot to mention Brock lost at home to Christchurch Friday night 2-1
They did have a good away win at Laverstock 7-1 during the week in the Wessex League Cup

The best thing about The Church was it was a stone-throw away from the ground. That and the reasonable northern drink prices.

A Dale fan has just facebooked that he thinks we're one of the best sides he's seen this season.

I assume he meant attacking wise.

I'm not sure why, but that really seemed like it was worded like the second bit was going to be a punchline to a joke. I suppose it was in a way, but I think we can do better.

....

Well just about recovered from a pretty boozy weekend with a nice trip out to Rochdale in the middle of it. 1st game I've been to this season being from a few miles down the road from Rochdale and whilst I enjoyed the drama and the goals it was frustrating to see us fail to do the basics properly, and that's what cost us.

Contrary to popular belief I thought Prutton had a poor game, yes there were two surging runs from midfield but aside from that he gave the ball away far too often for someone with his experience. The goals conceded were soft without anyone in the back four doing anything fundamentaly wrong. Rose looks a real threat for us down the left and Ritchie's work rate and technique is what we've been missing since we lost Danny Ward.

As fair a point as you'll see though, neither side deserved three and both deserved something out of it, roll on Oldham away on Dec 10th, I bloody love Boundary Park in December! Oh and hello to Sutton Red who I bumped into whilst having a smoke outside the Cemetery after the game.

Yeah, I was in my local for 6.30pm and settling down to a nice curry for 7.30. One of the perks of being a lazy fan and only travelling to games within a 30 mile radius of my house!

When will they EVER learn?  ::)

Didn't do any of the pubs but found an interesting takeaway in the town centre. I sat on a bench scoffing bap filled with lovely garlic butter chicken and a sizeable portion of minted spicey potatoes. Lovely grub :I'm a complete mofleakin Deak

Prutton was MoM for me and Rose's free kick was exquisite.

Danny Ward was sat just in front of me. He was obviously in training as he was munching on a pie and followed it up with a Yorkie before kick off. Good man! He was up and down like a yo yo and cheering along with every Town goal. it looked like he was having a pop att he ref for some of the dodgier decisions as well :D
