I know little about computers.

I have an dual core Acer yadda yadda thingy wotsit laptop with a c drive and a d drive.  My c drive has no capacity (or 1.24 gb of 111gb) free, whilst the d drive has 111gb of 111gb free. 

Can I just move stuff from one drive to the other to free up space or should it automatically just start filling up the other one?

I really dont know anything about this sort of stuff.

Yeah... but do it whilst clicking the right button instead of left. When you let go, you'll be able to choose Move instead of Copy.

Only move things if you know what they are, ie files you've created, music, porn videos and so on.

If you start moving system files, Windows itself, or various other things you'll fuck it up.

Run disk cleanup as well, you could have accumulated a lot of crap on there.

When you've got at least 15% free space, defrag the c drive.

If you have loads of stuff in my documents then there's an easy way to move everything across to the d drive. Firstly, create a new folder in the d drive called my documents.

Next right click on the my documents icon in your start menu, select properties and then click the move button.

You can then browse to the folder you just created on the d drive and it will move your my documents there, which would save a shit load of copying and pasting. Windows will update the links for my documents to the new location, meaning you don't have to do anything else.

What version of Windows is it? If you're using Windows 7, you can delete the D: partition (I'm assuming it's a partition and not another different drive...?) and expand the C: partition to fill the space.

If you are on Windows 7, let me know and I will post instructions.
